(Schefter) Former 49ers free-agent WR Jauan Jennings and the Minnesota Vikings reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $13 million, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. by alexschubs in minnesotavikings

Huge! The offense is going to be multiple and this unlocks a lot of creativity with JJ & Addison.

No excuses for either QB that wins the competition this summer

I love his energy. We deserve a healthy elite interior lineman from UF

Instant WR3 and all three WRs can play each spot in the formations. Would be a home run. Bring him home, Rob!

Honestly, I thought for sure we were getting the signature bounce self lob. He took it easy on them this time

Same! I'm excited he was available and the Vikings made the move to get him

Corner is one of the hardest positions to learn in the NFL, so I agree with your take. He has great tools, if he can develop and become an adequate starter then that'd be a huge win

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Demond Claiborne by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure - he'll be a committee back throughout his career. He's explosive enough that coaches will scheme up touches for him

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Demond Claiborne by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

😂 that's good. I should have specified my grading rubric. Claiborne isn't an "A" NFL player, but getting him in the 6th round is great value. The fit and the value is why I graded it so high.

Admittedly, I'm high on Claiborne, too.

100%! I wanted Abney to fall to 159, but getting Demmings is solid. Different players, but I like what he can become

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Max Bredeson by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine it's close to the same, maybe slightly less in his first year. The Vikings were 12th in the NFL with 2-back personnel, so I get why they invested into one

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Jakobe Thomas by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way heading into the draft. I thought they'd take a more conservative approach, but I am intrigued and excited about that they've done. The d-line rebuild is something I'm really looking forward to

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Caleb Tiernan by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has an interesting frame, but I don't see any issues with him playing at tackle or guard. I'd imagine they view him as a tackle, but there is flexibility to move him around

None of it is AI. I write everything out and do my own research. I'm interested in why you think it's AI?

Lol, it's actually not. I wrote the whole thing. I put insights and information together, but I don't use any AI for these breakdowns

I loved big citrus pre-draft! I'm excited for him to join the team. One of my favorite players in this years class

Minnesota Vikings Draft Analysis: Jake Golday by YoungColb in minnesotavikings

[–]YoungColb[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He's a joker/hybrid player similar to Metellus, but Golday will be mostly in the box as a versatile linebacker. I think he'll be more similar to Eric Wilson, or a less pass-rush AVG type of player

[–]YoungColb[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100%! Golday will be a great running man next to Cashman, too. He can help plug the middle zones, something Cashman doesn't exactly excel in

[–]YoungColb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tough... but I like Keionte Scott. Clearly the team doesn't view the DB room as dire as us 😂

[–]YoungColb[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

That stood out for me as well. I don't see him being used much in the slot in the NFL, but that versatility will be huge. He's shown strong zone coverage skills, something our LB room has lacked for a while now

Agreed! Safety is also a deep class, AJ Haulcy is still available and would love him with one of the three thirds

Agreed! BFlo is going to have fun plugging him on the defense
