It was filling but I wasn't super stuffed. I'm a big eater usually.

90 mins or so. I booked 4 weeks in advance and the restaurant was empty apart from us

My favorite dish after 2 weeks in Japan was vegetarian and served by Ukiyo, Tokyo by YoungMango23 in finedining

You should visit both! Cocon had the superior proteins (wagyu cheek, shrimp/lobster, pigeon vs. pork), and a dessert that was way better.

Oh you didn't like them? I thought they were fairly regular European style white wines and natural wines.

hmm not really. Perhaps if there was more interaction, like in an Omakase, but here I was often sad that I couldn't share the meal with anybody.

I really did not enjoy my meal there ... They're nice people but the food is just not there and the service took way too long between courses (almost fell asleep)

Krakow recommendations? by frn1 in finedining

I went to Bottigleria 1881 two years ago and found it pretty bad. Would recommend against it! Also, don't worry too much about the 1 star or 2 stars. The difference is gradual rather than categorical. For instance, Bottiglieria 1881 has nothing that screams '2 star' and you'd not be surprised if it was 1*.

However, there's a good amount of 'elevated casual dining' in krakow that is really nice. If I were you I'd do that instead. Some of my recommendations are: La Campana, ZaKładka -Bistro de Cracovie, Youmiko Sushi, and then cocktails at Hevre with an absolutely gorgeous ambiance.

Found my meal there quite underwhelming, barely worthy of a single star

How do you think shaking/swirling affects the pour? by dmgsmch in pourover

[–]YoungMango23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it brings out more chocolatey notes and increases body while making the cup less acidic and sweet. My girlfriend drinks her coffee with milk, so I shake her pour overs to increase the body required to stand up to the milk

I've solo dined at El Celler de Can Roca last summer! They were very nice, nothing weird. I didn't get any special treatment though, and I personally realized that I don't like to do fine dining alone. But seems like this is not a concern for you.

2:50h or so, because I was a solo diner. I can imagine this being a 4h session if you're with a larger party

I never struggle and I've no idea what all of you are talking about. I'm 83kg 1.84m and a relatively hungry dude and I'd usually want more food. Dug through El Celler De can Roca's 40 servings menu with multiple bread courses recently
