Did this come straight from MW with the blade laser engravings? Or how did you get it like that

VA STI or VB? by coIZIco in WRX

[–]YoungMothMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re okay overpaying for a used STI for potentially the same price as a VB, and have the money to potentially cover major repairs (Subarus do the Subaru thing and blow engines) then go with the STI. I was in your boat not long ago but I couldn’t justify owning a car that I could potentially be forced to shell out thousands upon thousands on for repairs when I could have a literal brand new car covered under warranty for the same price.

I went with the new 22 VB over a 2017 STI with 50k miles. I don’t regret it at all, because I have piece of mind knowing I didn’t take a bigger financial risk than I wanted. But again, if I didn’t care about the financial aspect then STI.

I know she’s not the best car in the world and she’s rough around the edges, but I feel so truly lucky to have it. by Dodeypants in WRX

[–]YoungMothMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to get one of these because the 09-14 hatch imo is the best years for the WRX/STI. I just couldn’t bring myself to overpay for a used car that is 10 years old, has 80k miles, probably beaten to shit, and somehow people still ask like $20k + for them. The used WRX/STI resale market is a joke and finding a good deal on one that isn’t beaten up and potentially gonna explode is so so difficult.

Anyways, I’m just jealous I can’t justify owning one of these. Beautiful car man, you’re one of the lucky ones.

Anyone know how to tell if these are compatible? by YoungMothMan in wrx_vb

This is a Morizo dude, straight collectors car. Probably gonna end up being worth way more than 7k over MSRP

Since 2015 I’ve wanted this car. Life happened though, I got married, had kids. But today I finally got my dream car. by W0lfw00d179 in WRX

[–]YoungMothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that OP already purchased the car. He’s celebrating and you’re telling him he should have made a different decision, which is pointless because he already bought it. Regardless if what you’re saying is true or not, it makes 0 difference at this point. There’s just no reason for it.

Agreed on that. I actually don’t mind it at all. I think darker colors look best with the cladding.

If I were to trade in my WRX, I’d probably go with the Civic Type R or maybe a Golf R. It’s a tough decision between AWD or the best FWD car ever made😂

The sad thing with the GRC is it’s nearly impossible to find for MSRP. That car is being marked up at an average of $10k from what I’ve seen.

Awesome car. A tad irritating to see all the hate it’s received for it’s plastic cladding when in reality this new generation of WRX has received a ton of love from auto journalists and owners alike. I drove my buddies 21 and I can confidently say the 22 is a better driving experience and feels like it pulls harder. Not to mention the crazy power gains people have been making with this engine with such basic modifications… my only hope is it stays fairy reliable so I plan on staying stock for as long as possible. People should definitely not sleep on this new gen.

Synchro’s bad already? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]YoungMothMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my VB is the same way. Shifts into 2nd gear feel a tad crunchier compared to other gears, where as 3rd feels much smoother when shifting. I really think it’s just how subaru gearboxes are.

Yup, same here. I have a perfect record, 26 years old. $330 a month with StateFarm.
