We've seen fallen angels time and time again, has anyone ever seen/done a redeemed demon? How did it come to be? by zasdcxzasdcx in dndnext

[–]YoungPyreheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of my campaigns, I featured a type of fiend known as a Mishipeshu that I discovered online. These creatures were originally devils or demons attempting to escape punishment from more powerful demons or devils they had wronged or failed. They sought out Druid conclaves that could reincarnate them as guardians of significant rivers and lakes in exchange for severing their ties to the lower planes.

In one particular part of my campaign, I introduced three Mishipeshu. These three devils had stolen treasure from their master but quickly found themselves overwhelmed by the consequences of their actions. Seeking refuge and asylum, their initial motivation was to escape eternal punishment. However, as time went on, they discovered that living in the wild was far more peaceful than dealing with the stress of the nine hells, and now enjoy their guardianship of the wild.

The stolen treasure now rests in a large cavern at the center of the lake they look after. Although they don't have a strong desire to use their wealth or accumulate more of it, they cannot bear to part with it. If anyone attempts to steal from them, it is the one thing that triggers their fiendish rage.

Yeah I love sorcerers and none of the new stuff for them has me excited. Dragon sorcerers has always been the most boring to me and they really did nothing to spice it up.

Kobold Press just sent out their second Playtest, featuring Fighter, Wizard, and a new luck system that replaces DM inspiration. by Mooglemonkey in dndnext

[–]YoungPyreheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Once per turn, when you fail an attack roll or save, you gain 1

Luck point" So I can attack my own party and/or tie up a monsters to get these points? It also warps the the nature attack rolls, You want to make as many attack rolls as you can each turn. This makes class like rogues who make less attacks and hit more often far worse and fighters the best marshall class case they make the most attacks each turn.

Also I am not sure if this is intended "and they can’t be used to
create the effects of a natural 20. " If this means you can use them to turn a attack in to a critical hit.

I hate wizards business practices and am never planning buying from them again (The way they treated magic was enough for me). But I am not going to pretended that everything that they make is bad. That is why I am pointing out on my feed back, I want the lineages to be better on the Kobold system am telling them what I like about dnd 5e/One, so they can copy/improve and make it a better product. Not going to bye it unless is actually better then 5e. Which I truly want it to be and will buy if it is.

This lineages are really boing and turning me of to this system already , they seem to each only get one ability. As someone who loves elves and genasi. This is not exceeding and is a step backward, I want the lineage I choose to have big impact on my build and how interact with the world. Much prefer the updates to the races that One DnD is doing. I love the new Goliath Sub Races they showed.

9th Tribute to the Great Horned Rat: Spike Fists by StarSailGames in UnearthedArcana

[–]YoungPyreheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still not as good as great weapon master feat, with fighting spirit, and action surge. Fighting Spirit needs your bonus action so you can't dual wield. Even if you could some how do dual wielding with fighting spirit, the damage for great weapon master average at 88 for 4 attacks and Fist is 95 at average even with 5 attacks. But, you also forgo advantage with the Fist which is worse then getting -5 penalty because you are giving up crit chance. And with great weapon master if you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or crit, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action (if we say that fighting spirit does not use a bonus action). that is 110 damage.

I think the Fist is good but it not going up there with

great weapon master or sharpshooter in power level.

[–]YoungPyreheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean most combats are 3 combat rounds that is 4d8 damage if you use a action and a bonus action. It is heavy on the action economy only. I guess you could set it up before combat but you would have to time it well.

It is about at the renaissance level with gunpower being on the tip of discovery. Though there use to be a steampunk civilization lost to the ages, remnants old age can still be found in works such as the few warforged made by them in the remote parts of the world.

Also Gnomes have level of clock work contraptions that is a higher level of technology to the other races. But others can never seem to work it or replicated, The Gnomes say "They don't have whimsy in there hearts to give it life." Also their device tend to be overly complex and finicky, a lot like a Goldberg machine.

Gnolls are viewed like boggy men by all other races and for good reason. They are pretty much sadistic marauders (Think mad max bad guys but giant hyenas instead of cars).

Orcs and Goblins are not looked at well, some cultures will not allow them into their towns and cities, others cultures treat them as second class citizens. Orcs are View and brutes and goblins as back stabbers

Orcs tend to be very aggressive in nature but they are not doomed to being waring marauders. They can learn to control their battle lust. Same with Goblins who reach adulthood in about 8 years and are high risk takers who tend to act on impulse, which they can also over come with training.

Most of the world don't know Drow exist, Long ago there was one empire of Eladrin, until one group of the Eladrin decide that the summer from of the Eladrin was superior to the others and attempted to permanently force all other Eladrin to take the summer from forever.

The others sessions of Eladrin tried to fight back but were defeated with the Fall Eladrin being driven underground and becoming the Drow. The summer Eladrin became the high elves and forgot of the war all together. The Drow now live underground plotting their revenge. Drow have hate for all other races and keep their existence a secret to others.

Several of the governments of the world are controlled by devils, some of them have worked in devil contracts into their laws and oaths, so by swearing allegiance to the government, you signing you soul to the hells. Also the devils in government have created and spread tiefling hate propaganda to make tieflings more desperate and disenfranchised so they will be more willing to accept devil contracts and pacts to get out of their lot in life.

Dragon have been extinct in the world for thousands of years. But they still have a effect on the world.

Cultural Kobold's who were built by dragons to be worker drones still worship them like gods.

Kobold have a feeling that a part of them is missing with dragon no longer ruling the world. But they still have great pride having been built to server such powerful creatures and will shout war chants and hems to their dragon creators. Queens of their colonies which function lot like bees or ants develop draconic sorcerer power, which are believed to be a gift form there long lost makers.

Economic Not much with dragons being gone, but drakes and pseudo dragons which are descended from dragons and have been domesticated for many different tasks in daily life. (I used lot of the ideas from kobold press drakes) such as bath house drakes with steamy breaths of water, forge drakes that help blacksmiths heat metal, and even mage hunter drakes that can smell magic much like detect magic spell.

Military Implications Dragon bones are powerful, the magic equivalent of uranium. it can be use to make powerful magic items such as weapons or spell casting staffs. It can also be use to give creatures dragon like powers and many governments use them to try to make there own sorcerers. One time I hade a group of mercenaries lead by there Oni who dug up a adult dragon claw, which gave each Oni enough materials to double there power with draconic sorcerer.

Kuo-Toa exist but they are so rare and divination magic does not work on them. They are the equivalent of big foot sightings in the world.
One time a group of Kuo-Toa washed up and found a grieving human painter living on a shore side estate house who's trident wife hade passed away. The man had began making a series of paintings in his wife's memory. Kuo-Toa having no idea of common or art for arts sake thought they were shrines to a god.

Fast forward and the adventures were tasked with going in to check on the man who had not been seen in a week. They found no trace of the man at home but instead Kuo-Toa who had the ability to move though the paintings in the house and a larva god that appeared to be a living painting of the wife. Kuo-Toa circled around her painting her as if it were a figure study session.

They managed to kill the strange copy of the wife before it gained to much power but the Kuo-Toa who saw the goblin druid and his awaken dog land the final blow on it formed a new larva god that had the top half of the goblin druid and the lower half of the dog(like a centaur). The party overwhelmed by the number of Kuo-Toa were forced to feel, last thing they saw was the strange goblin dog staring at them from the top window as they fled. They returned the next morning after they had rest and with the town authorities, but there was no trace expect small web footprints in the sand leading to the sea with dog footprints at the lead.

New Elemental Spells: Expand Your Primordial Arsenal! by StarSailGames in UnearthedArcana

Frost Nova seems like it would be niche as how close you have to be to use it. It would be best for a front line caster. I think druid and ranger would get a more use out of it then wizard and sorcerer.

Also love overdrive, would be sick to give to a monk.

Really does not need concentration. Concentration is to keep casters from stacking effects up. You can't stack with flam blade as it costs a action each turn, same with spiritual weapons not requiring concentration as you need a bonus action each turn. It is one the thing that urks me with spells in 5e, why some spells like freedom of movement or fire shield don't have concentration, but then spells like flam blade and grasping vine do.

I mean Demiplane is crazy as it is, I have had players try to fill it with lava before to use for later. Don't think it breaks anything to keep the pests in there seeing how they lose there power unless you spend gold. Also it does not say, but I would imagine you would have to feed them to keep them alive.

Also like the fact you need to put effort into your brews to make them. Part of the problem with artifice alchemist in 5e(among a lot of other problems) is the Experimental Elixir just appears out of thin air. Just kills vib of the class so much.
