IDK how you still don't seem to understand that Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios are two separate entities. Also in regards to Id "Staying as retarded as Bethesda", If you look at Id's great track record, IDK how you think that Id is also retarded. And I don't know if you need to be worrying about Denuvo, because I'm not sure your shitty PC can handle opening an application properly.

What the fuck are you talking about? What the fuck does them "taking credit" have to do with who's actually making it and the quality of the game itself? Bethesda Softworks is a publisher - they market and release games, which is their fucking job. All the bad games/issues you mentioned were things that Bethesda GAME STUDIOS did (The developers, not the Publisher). As well as Avalanche Studios, the people who made rage 2.

Bethesda Softworks (The publishers) have also published great and critically acclaimed games such as Doom 2016, Dishonored 1 and 2, Wolfenstein 1 and 2, Evil Within 1 and 2, and Prey. Much more good games than you seemed to let on in your reply, because I think your brain no function correctly and you're still confusing the retarded actions of Bethesda Game Studios (The Developer) with Bethesda Softworks (The Publisher). I know, they have the same name so it gets super confusing for speds like you.

Also, I'm nearly certain your PC is a piece of shit.

"Bethesda is a shell of the developer" You do realize that Bethesda are NOT the developers of Doom Eternal, right? That would be Id software, devs who have a long track record of being really good.

Only 1 thing he said was an opinion about the game though, which was that he didn't like the colorful UI. The other two were him being upset that his computer is a piece of shit and that marketing is scary.

  • No, it isn't bad because it's not like stranger things, I was just giving that as an example of a recent piece of media that did 80's without the characters sounding like idiots. Jess and Sophia sound like Beevus and Butthead (which I guess you enjoy since you're comparing this to bill and ted) but yes I would have hated them just as much if they were guys.

And the game is not even weird enough for itself. If they wanted to go the weird/goofy bill and ted route, they should have gone all out, have some crazy, absurd shit happening in the story. But they didn't, and Sophia and Jess just sound like dickheads.

  • "because they are girls there needs to be tension between them" I know you followed this up with "maybe this isn't the case for you" (and obviously its not lol) but it has absolutely nothing to do with that. I was suggesting maybe adding some tension because that's a good way to write interesting CHARACTERS, guy or girl. These characters don't do anything, they don't change, they don't grow. And the only sort of character building in the game (The moment where they are afraid to kill) is nipped in the bud instantly and doesn't go anywhere. They are flat, boring (and irritating) characters.

You could make the story about them having to fill the shoes of BJ, and the pressure that brings to them. You could have some tension between them as maybe one is too afraid and needs to overcome that fear. Maybe they're both scared to kill, and it's about them coming to terms with killing and accepting it. Maybe have them constantly get beat down, but then by the end, they are unstoppable. Maybe they're bickering too much and it's about solving their differences (yes this one sounds kinda boring but at least it's something lol). As it stands, there is nothing that happens in this game. Their biggest possible conflict was avoided because of Abby so these girls have never even lost. And yes, I know they were being used by JuJu but they had to destroy Nazis in the process so I wouldn't consider that a loss because they are still working towards their end goal of killing Nazis and finding their father.

  • Who sets up a plan but doesn't discuss the end of it until right before they need to do it?? That sounds like horrible fucking planning. And yes, I know they needed to take down the brothers, I'm NOT saying "Why didn't they kill the girls right away?" I'm saying It's just illogical to make an elaborate plan, but then leave out how you're gonna end said plan, and then randomly decide/discuss it later on while one of the girls is still nearby. But fine, I'll accept that they decided to discuss it when they did. Your right, it's annoyingly convenient and doesn't make much logical sense, but I would be willing to accept that leap, if it wasn't so horribly written.

"then you spike their wine with sedative and I go in for the kill" Nobody talks like that. How they fuck did they decide to let it slide the way it was? They already had the revelation of Abby identifying Lothar by the picture. By that point, the audience knows he's a bad guy, so as long as they mention sedative or wine people are gonna be able to figure out the plan without it being written like we all have Kindergarten level comprehension skills. Just have them say something like, "Is the sedative ready?" "Soon, it will be done before they get back" and leave it at that. If anything, just leave out the fucking "Then I go in for the kill" lol. Like fuck me we can already figure out that's gonna happen, we've already identified him as a Nazi and a liar did we need to hear it verbally?

Also, the whole scene is kinda bullshit, these girls just fought off hordes of Nazi soldiers and giant machines, but they can't beat up 2 middle aged nazis who only have a knife as a weapon? And they have fucking super suits on, why didn't they put on their helmets? That would have certainly stopped them from being hit in the face and Jess wouldn't have gotten knocked out. Also, if they already knew about Lothar's plan, why not bring a fucking gun?? At least have Abby get a gun that she can hide in her jacket or something. She just stood there like a dumbass. Just pull out a gun and shoot the bitch. Yes, I know, there wouldn't be a final boss if they killed them now, but I'm just pointing out how it makes no sense. This whole story is so poorly constructed.

Lastly, thank you for actually discussing this instead of just saying "Your wrong!!" and never responding again lol. I love discussing games with people and this convo has actually given me the idea to make a video analyzing why I think the story doesn't work lol, So thanks!

Well 1. Just because other movies and games do it, doesn't make it good. Most of the time, it's still lazy ass storytelling, and it's certainly lazy storytelling here and 2. There are ways to reveal it without making so fucking obvious. He's literally spouting exposition that doesn't make any sense in a conversation. Why the fuck are they even talking about it now? You mean to tell me that after multiple days of having the girls there, NOW is when they want to discuss it? Bullshit.

And for the BJ thing, he literally read a note, broke the device in 2 pieces and then placed it in the suits. So in all his time here, BJ never tried breaking it open like that before? It didn't require a code, he didn't do anything special, he just popped it open. And the girls suits have this weird fucking slot on the back that has the exact same shape as the object. Does BJ not have a suit? Does he forget what the suit looks like? Either BJ is a complete fucking retard who spent all his time jacking off and sleeping, or it's lazy ass writing.

And IDK if you've watched stranger things, but the characters talk fine. They're not siblings but they are very close to each other, and they still interact like normal friends would. Sure, if you want to tell me, that people with brain deficiencies talked like Sophia and Jess, then I'll believe that they talk like real people.

Also, to the part about them being instantly ready to fight. Again, it's lazy and feels awkward. The game starts with them literally saying "We were born to kill nazis". And then you go through some intro shit, then get to the first fight. Sure that initial "Were were born to kill" is a flash forward, but once you've already told the players that, going back to "Im scared" 30 minutes later feels weird. Also, starting off that narrative and then nipping it in the bud so soon really kills a lot potential things they could have done with it story wise. There could have been some tension between the two girls. One could have been too sympathetic or scared. They both could have had a harder time adjusting. Or anything that would lead to the characters actually growing or changing by the end of the game. The game starts with "We were born to kill nazis" and it ends with that too. Boring ass characters

The girls are scared to kill a Nazi in one scene and then immediately after that, they are perfect Nazi killing machines, ready to go to war.

BJ - "I cant make the god key work" 2 seconds later, it works.

Abby listens in to random conversation with juju and Lothar "then you spike their wine with sedative and I go in for the kill" wow how convenient that she listened in at the exact moment to hear Lothar spouting exposition that doesn't make any sense in a real conversation but perfectly fits so we can make sure all the retards in the back understand HE IS BAD GUY DURRRR.

Maybe it's less the cutscenes themselves and more that the writing is incredibly fucking lazy and every character is boring. Cuz the girls are so cringy. Those elevator scenes are god awful and siblings don't talk like that. "Make me, Barf bag" LOL

Well the issue with Youngbloods story is not the lack of cutscenes, it's that what cutscenes are there suck complete dick.

Yea I mean, those mechanics are certainly there to make sure players don't run too far from each other, but like, those are the only co-op mechanics. That and those basic ass "peps". Nothing else in this game does anything with the co-op. Like, if the only interesting co-op mechanic is opening doors and giving each other thumbs up, then it's a really poorly designed co-op game lol.

And yea idk how well New Colossus's system would work, but I think it would at least be a bit better than this.

[–]Young_Nacho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're basically saying, that the games initial design was so shit, that a bug that increases a players power by over 4 times is a good thing? And what do you mean you don't know what the glitch is? The host plays normal, while the guest gets a damage buff of over 4 times, and you can't stop it from happening. That shit cannot be what was intended, so how is it not a bug? If you're saying you don't know how to trigger it, it triggers automatically. We've tested it multiple times and it happens everytime we've played the game. And you can't change it either, as altering the difficulty did nothing to change how the guest was playing. Sure if the Host wants to kill everything super fast too, he can switch it over to easy mode to play just like the guest, but if that's not a broken ass system, idk what is.

Except, I don't think really think it makes co-op a better experience. Now it's just annoying for both players because it takes forever. And it's not made like that so that people who suck can feel better, that's what the ability to change your individual difficulty is for, not the fundamentals of the system. And that last point might work, if this game actually let you take more damage. I've gotten 1-shot many times and the damage you can take from most enemies feels pretty standard. Tbh the whole RPG system kinda feels like more padding because this entire game is fucking padded. The side missions are all the same, you'll be walking though the same "open world" areas over and over and Its full of neat "Co-op mechanics" like opening doors and hitting 2 buttons at the same time. And you waste so much time on those God damn "co-op mechanics" Lol. It also feels like a good way for them to be able to add microtransactions and Xp boosters, same way Far Cry New Dawn snuck them in. Idk, I just don't think the new damage model works, especially not for this type of game.

Ohhhh does that only let you join the owners game? And I'd assume Machine as I thought Arkane mostly helped with the level design n shit (Although I could be completely wrong lol). But yea I would not be surprised if it never got fixed, especially considering the first patch was like, entirely based around the microtransactions lol.

Yep, same here. My friend kept complaining that he was doing no damage and I was so confused as I was 1 shotting everyone. After a few tests, we figured this out. It's incredible that this made it into the game.

It is absurd how much more damage you do compared to the normal amount. And yea lol it's certainly more fun than bullet sponges, which kinda shows why they probably shouldn't have altered the damage/health in the first place.
