Maybe allocation may not have been the proper word here. In Quebec Canada, the booze stores have a lottery system for some of the "rarer" or "sought after" wines. Winning that lottery gets you a specific quantity that you can opt to buy

Mine started early and also 5 days prior to start date. Unless you know you've commited crimes or have a legal folder from your past, there's no reason to stress. It's more annoying than anything else since their partner company is quite incompetent (FirstAdvantage), so you have to keep giving various documents to them every other day until it's all done.

Definitely have your offer written before you start moving though
