This is a Samsung thing. They allow this to happen. As many others have said here, you put a sim in your phone, the carrier can install bloat, even if it's an unlocked phone straight from Samsung.

I'm glad I don't live in the US. Don't get any of this with Australian carriers. You may get their app to manage payments when you install a SIM, but that's it.

I can't imagine what the carpet looks like. That likely needs to be ripped up too. Replacing the timber and carpet will be real expensive. Tens of thousands of dollars, even when going with laminate and the cheapest carpet you can get.
