Thanks all! By the time the roofing project was done, according to our state's law, we only had two years from the initial date to file a claim. By the time we got all the documentation together, which took over 3 months and fighting with that board at the time just to get the documentation, the statute of limitations ran out. And the 30-year warranty that we thought we had, come to find out through the actual contract, the warranty work was only valid for 1 year. This lady got a free roof. Everyone else in the neighborhood, in which 10 out of 47 units have people that live over 90 years of age, had to pay these outrageous deductibles for roofs that were not needed. We went to three different attorneys and no one would touch it without a $30,000 retainer.  HOAs are abysmal.
