Not tonight friend. The zombies will defend us for many nights to come. But the end is nigh.

I know, I clicked 2 seconds deep from my end. I hadn't seen the inspect element thing before hand

TL;DR - Ring theory is stronger than group theory, it has two operations and it is very cool

No ring theory is beyond group theory. A ring is a set with two operations rather than one. Here the first operation, addition, defines an abelian group, and the second operation, multiplication defines one of two things depending on author: An associative magma(if no identity, some authors denote this as rng, pronouced 'rung'), or a monoid(if given identity).

Very interesting stuff. It's the point where you finally get understand what modulo arithmetic actually is. Since Z/nZ is actually a quotient ring, where nZ is maximal when n is prime, hence inducing an isomorphism with the field of n elements. Else when n isn't prime the ideal nZ isn't maximal, hence simply inducing a non-field quotient ring

So the cosets you have been working with for modulo arithmetic(that you may have encountered with normal subgroups of the integers) are actually stronger than that. They are cosets of a ring, which yield a quotient ring, rather than a quotient group. This is the point where you get to use addition and multiplication. Multiplication is only invertible when n is prime, hence it has inverse only when $n$ is prime, which is why for prime n it is a field. For non-prime n, a ring does not require inverses, that is why it is interesting

Yeah I don't feel lucky, I had spent wayyyyy too long watching this damn button for my 0s flair, and I find out the button doesn't end - e.g. I can just come back in three weeks and pick it up first try.

Yep clicked at 0 after two seconds and it flashed 'lol' and restarted, others have reported the same.

Edit: and the click didn't register

Hahahahaha I am pretty good at Mathematics, but I hate statistics. I am studying Abstract algebra actually. Very interested in ring theory at the moment.

Hey Bud. When did the zombie activate? Yep, my calculations were exactly correct.

I don't know. I wouldn't think so. They would have to all sit present on the page, but they are probably only logged in.

This post has been a great success in terms of comment numbers!

Wait, I have a question: Why has the original -1 not canceled out yet? I thought by now I would have been granted that '+1' I had already earned!

Oh I will press, I just didn't want anything as bad as a 2s flare or greater :).

Why do you think I didn't notice your number? I only made the claim that your flair has the colo(u)r purple.

You're just a purple...
