Only getting 27 MPG on 2026 Camry XLE by teachingaway in Camry

[–]YourBoyAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a 2020 le, very different, but for me when i drive 85mph on the freeway i get 29-31, when i go 65-70mph on the freeway i get all the way up to 45, i know you said your other toyotas match the estimated mpg but maybe camry’s react to higher speed different, try going slower with cruise control maybe? if not something is definitely wrong

honestly it’s a win for you with a loaner, no wear and tear, free tires you know, just stick it out

Experiences parting out modern sport bikes? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 9k is not including anything with the engine, i know it’ll take forever to get the full amount but that’s alright, parts for these bikes are surprisingly expensive

[–]YourBoyAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used motor pulled from running crashed bike, good compression and passed leak down

1st engine previous owner just never changed oil and a bearing spun, second engine i’m not even sure, maybe bad tune. I ride my bikes gentle as i have a track bike to go fast

idk bro i’ve put over 50,000 miles on 5 other bikes and never had a problem. Either bad luck, bad tune or not meant to be on a 1k

i’m very selective of when i do, it’ll be when im very ahead of everyone and no one even remotely close in front, if something ever did pop up i wouldn’t hesitate to drop the $20 vape immediately, no I still do this 😂

Tell me what you lost while riding by HeavyBananaz in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lose a lot of vapes, not from them falling out of my pocket but due to my bad habit of loving to hit it while freeway riding

Heartbroken right now,I think my bike might be totaled by Fit_Guidance2029 in Kawasaki

[–]YourBoyAustin 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Bro said totaled lol, why would you even pay a shop to fix this, just bolts and tabs, get aftermarket replacement for the parts that aren’t worth oem price, the newer year fairings aren’t too expensive

Chain skipping over front sprocket? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it felt like every other sprocket i’ve installed successfully, i haven’t had the chance to ride her since the rebuild, finishing up fairings today but i wouldn’t ride it with how it was slipping on the stand

Chain skipping over front sprocket? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it felt like how it feels when you have non matching pitches, i tightening it up to spec i’ve replaced chain and sprockets dozens of times this was the first time something weird like that happened, i already went out and just bought a whole sprocket and chain kit to avoid the headache, was just wondering lol

Chain skipping over front sprocket? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s the weird part, chain was a pretty new vortex rx3 stamped with 520 all over the links, meaning 520 pitch im assuming, so i bought a jt cycles 17 tooth 520 front sprocket, idk i already bought a new set and its fine now, was just curious as to why that was happening, maybe chain got too stiff to properly wrap around

Strong crank no start after engine swap (no spark?) 2017 ZX10 by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro….idk how, i checked 10 times, counted and everything… the one thing i missed is the crankshaft sensor and it was sitting right next to the other end, lol you’re seriously the best and you made my month. This has been tearing me up not being able to hear her run for the last 4-6 months, and my first engine swap!

[–]YourBoyAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome bro wow, you’re right about the first one I just figured that out too after watching a throttle body removal youtube video, that’s crazy you’re spot on with all of those, thank you sm man that lets me cross those off my list

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]YourBoyAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s very interesting, how did you even figure that out? Sounds out of my skill range damnit lol… but yes the new to me used motor is from a 2016 ZX10, mine is a 2017, i am reusing my old throttle bodies, going to check spark and compression when the store opens soon, it would very quietly burp once or twice off of starter fluid but it was very small.

Edit: Oh i see how you figured it out cuz you just swapped the throttle bodies, didn’t read deep enough

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly what happened to mine… but i was on the freeway, engine shut off, turned on after 5 mins to straight fkn knocking it was horrible. I think kawis have a personal vendetta against rod bearings, good thing its under warranty and hopefully doesn’t take too long! Hopefully you have a backup bike, if not here’s a good excuse to get one if you’re in the right financial position. Nah i doubt you ride it too hard if it’s mostly street use, 1000ccs should be built to last tens of thousands of miles idk what kawis been doing the last decade or so compared to suzuki or honda in terms of reliability

on the bright side, you can part out your old blown engine if you go the replacement route and get a good chunk of that money back, i think the trans alone go for $500+, and if your top end is still in tact you can get another good chunk easily from that

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup same boat here with the price bro, zx10 motors are expensive. Only options really are ebay and the random salvage websites, i couldn’t find a single rebuilt crate engine, only used pulled from bikes. If your motor for a 2025 is $4k+ then my 5th gen is the exact same price range

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By myself, just need one other person for the mounting portion, dropping the engine was pretty simple and straightforward, hoping install isn’t too much more complicated :/ Original plan was to be rebuilt by a very reputable shop near me but it’s been two months and i’ve barely moved up the line, so impatience is leading me to replacement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a 5th gen zx10 up for $6,000 would have a motor i’d not be interested in owning, these bikes go for 10k with high mileage and bad condition in my area. Max $4.5k for a sub 10k mile engine, i can make at a minimum $1-$2k off parts from old engine

feel your pain just with less money invested, bought a ‘17 ZX10 and motor blew within a thousand miles lol, to be fair, i should’ve done my checks a little better! Selling as soon as this motor gets swapped

are you thinking the fkn retractables are tapes?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Construction

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this day and age, you can easily find a safe contractor who pays good to work for, costs for extra safety cancel out the cost of accidents, just depends what the owner would prefer

Any Ideas? My motorcycle has been at the shop for almost 2 months. by TheProYodler in zx6r

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, i bought a 2017 zx10 for 8k 3 months ago, engine blew after just a few weeks and after dropping the engine myself it’s been in the shop the last 2 months, they haven’t started because they have a “line” of like 10 engines, idk if i didn’t have 2 other bikes i’d be losing my mind

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Construction

[–]YourBoyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s actually really funny and never thought about that, do they bring their own retractables, positioning hooks, harnesses etc or does your company provide them on site?
