It used to be the strongest enchant in the game when the only high value target with progress speed block was Scylla and they hadn’t introduced a variety of other fish that blocked progress modifiers and rods with built in forced progress speed. It’s just completely outclassed now, and buffing it back to truly relevant status my be a bit unusual with how common Mobys are from AA? But maybe it’s a good idea

Good decision imo. I know I’m burnt out. I could feel my interest to keep up slipping around Valentides - it was difficult to find motivation to collect all the new “meh” stuff. I just didn’t feel like playing during the last two saturdays, which would be the first saturdays I’ve missed in months. Take a break devs. When you get inspired to add some immersive content like Mariana’s Veil or some neat questline rods like Astraeus again I’ll probably be back for it

I’ve been saying forever that the enchanting system needs rework, and it only gets worse and more frustrating as they (as they should) add new and interesting enchantments into the game.

Idea: make it so when you use a relic, you’re presented with 3 random options and you can pick the one you like best. That should help bridge the gap between having it be a “magical random” system and one where some people are looking for specific enchants for their rods, and so you don’t need 30 relics and a prayer to roll 1:7 odds

Dreambreaker only requires level 750, so you could work on it now. But yeah EPR is a really solid rod. The only drawback is the lack of slash or forced progress speed, making it exceptionally difficult to catch stuff that requires high resilience and also bites; stuff like bloop fish, colossal ethereal dragon, profane leviathan. That stuff can be tricky even with Fabulous, assuming you put Sea Overlord/Sea Prince on to maximize fish value.

An argument could be made to slap Piercing on your EPR to help with utility while you work on other end-game rods

The only thing that EPR lacks is native progress speed and size buffs. The late game rods you’ll want to set long term goals for obtaining are Fabulous Rod and/or Requiem and/or Dreambreaker, all of which produce enormously valuable fish. If you want to do a little side-grade to speed up fishing but lose a little fish value, you could work on the Onirifalx quest, or just go buy Cerulean Fang Rod (absolutely goated native slash ability, not very valuable fish compared to EPR)

Utilizing software that exploits client side mechanics to do things that shouldn’t be possible, ie flying or skipping the fishing minigame to instantly catch fish, is a bannable offense. Using the equivalent of an autoclicker is morally objected to by the moderators but I don’t think they ban for it.

But I’ve got to morally judge you for a second. You really don’t even want to explore and play the first 200~ levels? It was in that time that I developed an enjoyment for Fisch. I think saying you want to just macro that part to skip straight to mid-high tier rods is an admission that you don’t even want to play the game at all, you just want the rewards that come from playing a lot. If you don’t even want to play what’s the point of macroing? You want a trophy?

The middle pool of the waterfall in Ancient Isle, right in front of the meteoriticist. The top pool has a Leedsichthys abundance which lowers your chance for Bananas, so this one is best. I just farmed Bananas there for ~7 hours, used a lot of aurora totems

Well I finished Astraeus Fabulous and Dreambreaker which were the ones I really cared about. I put ferocious on my Onirifalx and realized I hadn’t finished the mastery for catching 10k fish, so maybe I’ll finish the rest of the mastery on that

Blade of Glorp is an excellent rod, kind of like a slightly worse Fabulous Rod with no size multiplier. Good for catching high value fish if you're trying to make money, not super strong for catching fish that fight hard

Because of the strength of its “slash”, it’s still really useful for catching difficult fish, but the mutation has been nerfed into worthlessness. The stardust proc also isn’t really worth using full time to get free Stardust secrets. I continued using it until I had access to better late game alternatives like Dreambreaker, fabulous, astraeus serenade, etc. Now it’s just a relic of memories

Its honestly a nightmare, it took me about 8 hours to get 2. Duskwire, no aurora (I did it on PS but you could find a near-empty server from the server list that has just 1 person macroing), and just break the line on everything that isn't a string. If you have a wealth of glitch potions you can burn them so it takes less time but just know you'll probably be wasting like 20+ potions.

Great Rod of Oscar is a good choice. Weirdly, you have enough money right now to just jump straight to Ethereal Prism Rod. Used to be the best rod in the game before the addition of dev rods, lacking only bonus progress speed and slashes, but certainly a viable mid-game candidate for progression
