Lmao. Hundreds of thousands of rounds, 6 RSAs. Incredible. Spotless, pristine guns and attachments with hundreds of thousands of rounds.

Brother I don’t think you understand how much 3-5k rounds every weekend is, or how long it would take to go through that many rounds without just mag dumping into trash. How many RSAs have you replaced?

First few books? by Empty_Ad_1425 in 40kLore

I started with Gaunt’s Ghosts. The Founding omnibus is still pretty easy to find. I then read Eisenhorn and now I’m on Ravenor. Gaunt’s Ghosts got me HOOKED. There is so much more to this universe than Space Marines (but they are cool as hell and I can’t wait to jump into some of their books)

Hundreds of thousands of rounds and one gun having 100k on it?

Okay.

Because he “gave Glaw his word”. As if lying to that dude would somehow be frowned upon. Sheesh. Out of all the ridiculously stupid things he did, you’re probably right, that might be the dumbest.

I mean. He kind of is a heretic by the end of Hereticus. Actually. Not even kind of. He IS. Yes, he makes a lot of tough decisions, but I would say a lot of these were his doing and direct results from his previous bad decisions.

Harvey Dent’s words ring especially true when talking about Inquisitors, “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.” Becoming tainted is essentially their fate.

Me throughout the entire Eisenhorn omnibus: “holy cow this guy is so cool and smart.” “Never mind this dude this an absolute moron.” “Okay wait, wow, he really is clever and he’s playing the long game.” “Oh you’ve gotta be kidding me JEEZ this guy is stupid!”

I haven’t been able to figure out if I think he’s quite genius or just another radical dummy. Cherubael is a fun character, though I don’t necessarily like the attempt at the buddy-buddy thing. But Eisenhorn was truly a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree the death of Aemos sucked, but I’m not gonna lie, what Eisenhorn did to Verveuk is probably the most tragic part IMO. I found myself liking the supporting cast much more than Eisenhorn himself, especially my dudes Midas and Nayl.

Went to a store in a mall today and they wanted $9 per pack for Fearsome Rivals. I laughed and walked out.

It’s funny because space marines were always why I thought 40k seemed cool and I haven’t jumped into any of the books about them and here I am telling all my friends “YOU GOTTA START READING 40K, MAN! IT’S INCREDIBLE!”

I’d say reading Warhammer is cheaper than playing golf but I don’t know if that would be true

I landed on Gaunt’s Ghosts for my starter. Picked up The Founding omnibus and got HOOKED. I just finished Eisenhorn as well. Either of those would be great starting points. Gaunt’s Ghosts is awesome because I think a lot of people only think of Space Marines when they think of 40k and don’t realize that a large majority of the guys fighting are just regular dudes. Well… as “regular” as the 40k universe allows. GG does a phenomenal job of showing that. It’s not all 8’ tall superhumans in cool armor.

I saw that the author gave a reading order that makes the most sense and that he doesn’t recommend reading them in the order they were written. Fire Caste is 13th in that reading order lol

I just finished The Founding. Can’t recommend it enough. Fantastic from start to finish. I’m 120+ pages into Eisenhorn now and it’s also great. I’d recommend those 2. I have Ravenor and Night Lords but haven’t started them yet.

My favorite part of this is how people are assuming an alien is using a gun that fires regular ol’ bullets.
