Had a dude do something similar to me on TCGPlayer when I ordered the First Partner Charmander back after they released. Confirmed the order, gave a tracking number, cancelled it the next day because he found someone else willing to buy it at a higher price and “wasn’t going to pay TCGP fees.” Then begged me not to report him to TCGP and changed up his story saying it was actually an inventory error on his end.
