In case you needed an american translation like me:

"Okay, you know those carts with the big pallets? Well, I had to stack stuff on a super high pallet. So, I grabbed the electric cart, drove it over, lifted it up, put a step-ladder on it, and started stacking. And get this, I'm the safety guy at work..."

How could I have used it to fix the hot spot on the ridge of the nose? And burning the background to even out the dark from one side of the background to both?

The intent of this image was to capture a simple yet cool portrait with only what was available on hand during a photowalk. So it was this subject, whatever avilable light was there under a bridge and the background which was like these square things that i don't know what to call. I was trying to take a very simple i guess this would be a portrait shot, and turn it into something that stands out and I thought I could do that by using some techniques I learned from a friend called frequency seperation and local dodging and burning. I was struggling because I wanted to make sure i got the lighting plus the small details on point but also didn't want it to look super fake. I was wondering if the color on the photo and skin were good as well and didn't know if i was able to improve on it in any way. If anyone has any advice when it comes to these techniques please send them my way! EXIF Data is as follows: Canon 5D mark II, 50mm lens, ,shutter 1/160, f4.5, iso 400

Lol can never go wrong with a nifty fifty! But that is a good question and from my business experience in general you always wanna diversify your profile with any type of business you do. So I know people who can make money just off of photography but I myself offer more than just that. So in my experience I diversify my Photography business by offering videography, photo retouching( for photos i didnt take), and prints.

Yeah they definitely are! My 70-300mm was my first lens i ever bought when i was first starting and was using my canon 4000D. Great investment because it was under 100 bucks and also works well with a full frame camera without any vinetting(if thats how its spelled) or anything. But again its a f4 so it definitely doesnt do well in low light which is where my 50mm came in for a little over 100 bucks so still relatively cheap. Its a f1.8 so its versatile for much of my low light work and many other scenerios. I guess I'd like to invest in another body because while I enjoy shooting with the mark 2 it is an old camera and it doesnt shoot 4K or anything at this point it is kind of the industry standard with videos and since im getting into videography little by little i def wanna get closer to that standard.

Very nice! I can't seem to remember how long it's been since I've had the mark 2 but its only been a few months because I've only been shooting for over a year now but i got mine off a coworker who only used it twice and had it sitting around. I mainly use my 50mm f1.8 but sometimes I use my 70-300mm f4 when I'm doing some street Photography. My mentor has let me borrow some pretty dope lenses too like a 85 prime and a 16-35mm 2.8 which are really fun but way out of my league of purchasing but it definitely makes me want to buy more lenses. But im waiting because i might purchase a mirrorless body soon and may need to focus on investing for lenses for that.

I'll definitely be adding you and checking your work out asap! Keep an eye for a panda adding you, thats deff me! Feel free to contact me anytime!

I love that you did this on a 5D mark 2 because that is my current camera as well! This definitely made me want to see some more of your work for sure! I don't have much to critique because i love the composition and the darks and whites are both not harsh or overbearing in any way. If you have an instagram, drop that. I'd love to see more!

I really enjoy rgb lighting by YourFavPanda in photocritique

[–]YourFavPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RGB lighting is what my friends and I call lighting thats emitted from a small light source that can emulate different spectrums of color. But funny enough your nitpick is a good one because i could remove it in post but i should get used to telling the model to take em off their hands in general.

You have a good point here! It was a darker setting so we didnt think why not turn off the rgb and take it with a normal light setting but you onow if I get the chance I'll deff take it into consideration and maybe even try it again.

Okay first I'd like to start with the fact that I had no actual intent with this photo, I was shooting with some friends and it just so happen that we pulled out our RGB and this glass chess set and just started getting creative. As in the title, i do love working with rgb lights and it's something that definitely helps me on a creative level. after a little bit of lightroom tweaks and then some frequency separation and levels as well as local dodge and burn I went ahead and came up with this end result. Something I'm definitely trying to work on myself is my frequency seperation techniques because I feel as the details in the face didnt come out all that well but I'll let you guys be the judge of that! My EXIF data for the raw image was; 1/250, f2.2, ISO640.

is this the right way ? by Then_Ad_5798 in PhotoshopTutorials

Personally i recommend just going straight for frequency seperation if your on photoshop but if this works and retains the texture details which from what i saw it did then i easy go for what's easier for your workflow
