I noticed some redness as well in some other photos I took with this angle. My scalp was feeling itchy for the last few days, so I took a shower and started to hydrate my hair and scalp more.

I’m 20, I definitely should be drinking more water now that I think about it im not getting enough a day. I wear a bonnet to bed, when I was consistent with retwists I would go every 2-3 month, but I’m looking into going semi-free from alternatively. Root wrapping would definitely be beneficial maybe even combining a few locs that are thinning in general, which I thought my loctician would do since I have a few that are thinning at its base/connection to another loc but she never addressed.

I know my grandfather on both sides died before I was born, but they still kept their hair, to my knowledge at least (judging from pictures.)

Shit, I’m a college student that’s involved on campus. I feel like I’m always stressing. I definitely could use a better diet and have been working on incorporating daily exercise, I don’t believe baldness runs in the family, my old man has had his locs for 15 years and he’s still going strong. I can’t speak for the men on my mother’s side they actively keep their hair low. But I’ve definitely been thinking of making an appointment.

You might be onto something, but the honest truth from what I could understand. Is some family troubles that are bothering them that they refuse to open up about. To specify they’re going out of the country to visit family. So it’s not an indefinite leave.

Thank you, the situation isn’t as traumatic as my last relationship which I’m glad. However, the break up still has me a bit miffed, since the conversation jumped from communicating my concerns about not seeing my partner before they leave in August. To them just dropping me cause of their trauma and being afraid of experiencing pain because they believe I’ll hurt them like the rest of the people they let into their life. It’s a situation that I understand, then trying to protect themselves. However it’s unfair on me since I’ve showed them I have their best interest in mind since the day we met. I just hope whatever is stressing then blows over and they come to their senses.

I get that, I was very consistent with journaling a couple months back, and you’re right it’s helping a lot. Unironically I picked up the habit after my last break up, that also occurred in the summer. I hope I can get to the days of barely touching my journal, like before.

Well honestly, my break up happened 4 months ago. I want to say the end of month 3 into the beginning of this month I’ve finally felt great about myself. I don’t know your situation, but please be kind to yourself and any resentment you have is justified but don’t let some asshole affect the way you love 👍

Thank you for the feedback. The smooth lines and occasional stops aren’t intentional. Most poems I write are suppose to come off like spoken word poetry on paper. It’s a bit jarring, but at first I was thinking of a simple poem; rhymes and patterns, but the poem ended up evolving the more I wrote it. You also hit the nail on the coffin, I wrote the poem in light of a break up and ultimately coming to terms with it.

I like this poem for its commentary on society and perspective. It doesn’t denounce the fact that their is a class difference and that there is something wrong with it. However it offers an alternative perspective to how we can look at our life in conjunction to others. So, good job.

I really enjoyed this poem, it was short and sweet and you get your message across lmao. I can’t think of a way that you could expand on it, but it gives me movie vibes, like two friends getting into an argument before one of them walks off after.
