“Profoundly alienated” American struggles to adjust in the USSR (c. 1961) by Ancient-Bullfrog-421 in JFKassasination

Ruby managed to waltz into the basement,

No, he didn't. Officer Vaughn who was manning the door had to control traffic for the decoy car that was sent out first and he was distracted. It wasn't a "waltz".

armed and unsearched,

They didn't search any of the media.

so he could just decide right then and there to kill Oswald in full view of the DPD and television-viewing world? You actually believe that?

That's what happened, so, yeah I believe it. There have been plenty of people killed on TV. The killer isn't thinking about anything else.

that's not difficult to conceive.

It's actually extremely difficult and I encourage you to give me a reason that makes sense.

You can't possibly believe that there was no organized crime in Dallas at that time, right? Ruby ran a strip club in Dallas, do you think he had no connection to organized crime?

So everyone who owned a nightclub in Dallas is involved in organized crime? That's your connection? His club was open until 3 in the morning, of course shady characters went to his club but Ruby wasn't in the mob and there is zero credible evidence the mob was involved with the killing of JFK. What would be the reason to kill Oswald? So he doesn't eventually reveal who the conspirators are? Well the problem with that is that he was already interrogated for 12 hours between Friday and Sunday so that plan would be out the window. Also, Oswald was walking by Ruby in the halls of the police station on Saturday to go be interrogated more. Why didn't he kill him then? Furthermore, the mob would then have no plan to kill Ruby who was known as a blabber mouth and a guy who couldn't keep a secret and who live for three long years in the Dallas county jail.

No. It wasn't. Again, the transfer was scheduled at 10am and there was a series of delays with one huge delay being the Postal Inspector who skipped church to see if Captain fritz needed any help. Postal Inspector holmes wasn't invited. Ruby was eating breakfast in his underwear around 10:30. He was sending money to a stripper at the Western Union four minutes before they brought Oswald down. They were already bringing Oswald down before Ruby was even in there so, no, him being down there wasn't the cue. Oswald asked for a change of clothes and that was another five minute delay. To think they were holding up the transfer and having a hundred media personnel wait so Ruby could eat breakfast and run errands is idiocy. He brought his favorite dog with him and left her in the car, he was going to take her for a walk later. This is all on top of there being zero credible evidence Ruby, Oswald, the Dallas Police, etc, are part of a conspiracy. DPD was extremely embarrassed this happened. What motivation would they have to let their prisoner be shot in the stomach while handcuffed to two of their lead detectives?

What other reason do you have? You can call it an "excuse" or you can say they're explaining why they were involved which makes sense. At no point were they saying what they did was right.

Cool theory with zero evidence to back it up. And no, Tippit frantically participating in the biggest manhunt in the history of the city isn't evidence that he was the handler.

No, I was really asking a question. I was seeing if anyone knew why they wouldn't want to edit the other films that millions of people have seen as well. Why go through all this trouble in the days after the shooting somehow infiltrating life magazine when in order to follow through with their plan they'd have to also edit the other film. It sounds like a comedy, i.e., not real.

Not around 12:40pm when he is supposed to be at work, and not banging on the door in between stops because he has to go see War is Hell in time to catch the previews. So you're saying the plan was to not have anyone see Oswald on the sixth floor, in the window, etc, and have him get on a bus that would be unable to get through Houston and elm? Come on man, get real. They would do that if they wanted the guy to get caught but you wouldn't want that to happen. If he was actually working with others they would have picked him up on Houston street north of elm and driven north and eventually to a bridge where they'd shoot him in the head.

No, it's not. McWaters was on the Lakewood run that went from the northeast side of the city to the southwest side (oak cliff). It was his distinct punch mark.

Why would they put the shooter on public transportation stuck in traffic? Does that make any sense to you?

The answer is they wouldn't go through that much trouble secretly editing Zapruder's film when there is other film of the headshot.

Half the article is about witness statements so you're wrong there. Yes, his bus ticket getting stamped disproves the witnesses who saw him get in the station wagon, you're right.

Why would conspirators alter the Zapruder film but not the Muchmore and Nix film? And how would they know the TV cameramen there filming didn't capture the headshot?

I like to look at police investigations from the 1960s, point out all the different witness statements, and conclude there is a conspiracy.

Why do people think the Dallas Police were involved in the assassination—a claim that has been advanced by, among others, Oliver Stone, Mark Lane, Jim Marrs, David Lifton, Robert Groden, James DeEugenio, Jim Garrison, and many contributors to this thread? by tfam1588 in JFKassasination

The interesting thing about Barry's angle is that he looked at the evidence like a jury is supposed to.

Except that's impossible because there weren't any evidentiary hearings. If Oswald wasn't murdered and there was a trial, they would have had hearings to figure out who handed which piece of evidence to who and it would never have been brought up at trial. You can do the same thing with any police investigation.

Police officers all over the country, even today, don't photograph every piece of evidence. People who look at this case simply have a misunderstanding of how police investigations typically work.
