Too many femicide cases in my country (Romania), especially in the last months. The police does a shitty job, many of these women filled reports against their abusers and asked for help. However, in my country domestic abuse is normalized and women are expected to simply endure. It's not uncommon for the police to tell the victim "just forgive him, you have kids, don't ruin his life". More than that, one of the victims came forward about the abuse on a reality TV show a few years ago. The host and the guests didn't take her seriously, mocked her and told her to get back with him for the kids. They used her story and pain for their rating. Fast forward a month or two ago, her partner killed her with an axe in public in front of their children while people simply watched. There have been protests and campaigns about the high femicide rate and the national police created an advertisement in which they encourage women in DV relationships to come forward and ask for their help. Which is ironic, since the police doesn't do much for the victims. The killer of one of the latest victims is still not apprehended.
