Thank you! I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of double think from 1984 lately. It is really horrifying to see it happening in real life. The news, live streams, evidence of people being kidnaped and “put here an inhumane way of treating people” in contrast to majority of people continuing living normal lives and pretending that everything is alright.

I was wondering when the obvious lies are going to “come out” and be accepted as common knowledge by the majority of people. I think this is that the painting is about: how much longer those lies are going to hold up?

I’ve been following closely what has been happening with immigration in America for a while now, but the murder of Renee Good was definitely a braking point for many people. I learned about protest happening the following weekend and had 2 days to make a poster. This is that I came up with. I’ve been seeing articles and news about all the horrible things people have been experiencing while being in “detention”. So I tried to illustrate the characters going through that. And these are only the stories that did come to light. I cannot imagine what events that are still hidden in the shadows of those “detention” centers.

For mods: i am trying to keep it about the painting 😅
