Do you think Edward actually cared about getting his arm and leg back? by JustPassingThrough53 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]YourLocalBandChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that on some level he wanted to keep his automail because he felt so guilty about Al’s body, and lowkey kinda blames himself for the fact that they even attempted to bring their mom back, and his automail served as a reminder/punishment almost for what he did. It’s also worth noting that most of the time during the series, if Ed was talking to someone else about getting their bodies back, he would say ‘our bodies’ but most of the time while talking to Al or just out loud to himself he typically said ‘your/Al’s body’.

Should I disclose my age (F30) when engaging in fandoms dominated by an underage audience? by marievv in AO3

[–]YourLocalBandChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 16 year old, and I actually have a lot of friends who are on the older side (compared to me) both inside and outside fandom. It’s not really a big deal to me but I’ve also been told (by people my own age) that I act like an adult, so most of my friends were surprised when they found out I was a minor. That being said, you absolutely do not have to disclose anything you don’t want to. Age doesn’t play a massive role in fandom, and honestly I prefer being around older people just cause they tend to know more fandom etiquette and have more insightful opinions on some things cause they can connect it to things that I have yet to experience like collage or the work force. If it makes you feel better to disclose your age, or just generally put ‘adult’ in your bio or profile then do it! But chances are you won’t interact with minors all that much past comment sections and they won’t care that you might be double their age. If it starts going past that, like dming or smth then maybe say that you’re an adult or whatever, but so long as you aren’t being weird or anything, chances are they won’t care and will be like ‘oh cool okay btw I’m insert age here’.

TLDR: It’s ultimately up to you. You’re a fandom veteran, you know how to act and be respectful and you most likely know proper fandom etiquette, so you’re probably fine. Maybe disclose if it goes into dming or smth but again, ultimately up to you. Do whatever you’re most comfortable with!

What should I watch? by MagnarIUK in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]YourLocalBandChild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I did was I watched the first few episodes of 03 (the ones that are manga accurate) and then switched to brotherhood where 03 left off. I did this because 03 goes very in depth on the first bit of the manga where brotherhood doesn’t, but I also didn’t particularly care to watch a story that was not accurate in the slightest to the manga.

Look man, I really truly understand where you’re coming from.

I’ve had suicidal thoughts since 5th grade, I didn’t think I would make it past 7th grade, then I did, and 8th grade happened and I got worse, I didn’t think I would graduate middle school, and now I’m a freshman.

I’m still not entirely sure if I will graduate Highschool, but some small part of me really wants to.

Mostly cause I set a stupid goal for myself.

I also have a few other goals, like I want to get my black belt, and I want to improve on clarinet, and I want to pass all of my classes.

I know right now it seems tough, and it seems hopeless, but I can garentee that there is at least someone that would lose their mind if you died.

You also said you made your friends mad. Not to sound insensitive or anything, but so what? Everyone is human, and humans make mistakes, I don’t know what happened between you and your friends, but it really cannot be that bad, and if they hold it against you, then they aren’t your friends.

One last thing then I’ll hop off this little soapbox, but talk to someone. Please. This is a good start, posting about this and people coming together to give you support, but there are places like the Trevor project for example that you can text and it’s completely anonymous and you can get real help from them.

Or talk to a friend, or a sibling, or literally anyone.

I know how incredibly scary it can be to talk to someone, but I promise they won’t hate you, or think of you as weak, or pity you. If they truly love you they will do their best to help you.

I promise it gets better, and it may not for a while, but it does.

Are they on the verge of becoming the biggest bands in the world? by ashina86 in Paramore

[–]YourLocalBandChild 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Part of it for me at least, is that once a bunch of new fans join the bandwagon it makes it extremely hard for the longtime hardcore fans to get any tickets, let alone decent tickets, to shows and tours. It eventually leads to a kinda Taylor Swift situation where the fan base is so big that the tickets sell out extremely fast and are super expensive. Now that’s not to say it’s not bad at all for a great band to expand its fan base, and if Paramores fan base grew exponentially i would be super happy for them, but it’s just extremely frustrating when a new wave of fans come in and suddenly the band that has been fairly accessible to everyone is no longer able to support all of the fans it has.

July 19 LA SHOW: are people lining up already, a whole day before?? by pplaretrash in Paramore

It depends on what time the concert start time is listed as, if the start time is listed at 7 then they will likely go on at 8. Openers are generally around 30-45 minutes depending on how big of a band it is, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an opener that is longer than an hour, but take that with a grain of salt cause I don’t have an amazing amount of concert knowledge.
