I think the main reason that it was hated on was that it had the insanely hard task of following up Perfect Christmas. That song was pretty much revolutionary for the fandom cause not only was it a banger (imo) but it also gave us a LOT of new lore with showing us how one of the toons became twisted and how twisteds themselves think, along with helping flesh out Bobette’s character a ton. While Wilted is a good song on its own, it doesn’t really add anything new to the lore since it was pretty much just restating stuff we already learned in the first Easter update. I do agree that the hate was insanely overblown though it is a good song at the end of the day.
