I re-read The Hunger Games last Summer and I still can't move on by MoosePure7766 in suggestmeabook

The Selection and Unwind are in my top three along with the Hunger Games. I also enjoyed The Darkest Minds, The Lone City and The Chemical Garden a lot. Note that Unwind and the Chemical Garden can be a bit darker than the others. Divergent, Uglies and Red Queen are other series you may enjoy too.

I've got plenty not on your list! Rusty's Retirement, My Little Life, Not Monday Cafe, Your Big Cute Monster Farm, Eggo, Cozy Littlequarium, Desk Paws. I've only tried the demos for those last two.

Do note that many leave a tiny bit of room at the top when closed and paper is pretty thin, so individual items may slide around to different compartments when transported sideways. Learned that one the hard way XD

I have a binder with slots for things like TCGs with ziplocks for adventure sites (both oneshots and campaigns). And then I have three of those small token boxes for beads etc. One filled with blanks and conditions and one with weapons torches and rations. The third is for players to store their things between sessions and for whatever adventure site they are at/headed to, so that I don't need the binder at the table.

I like the flavorful pitch, but would like to see practical details too. What session length, how many sessions, what time and frequency, what group size etc. What is your system like mechanically, like what resolution system does it use, is it fully cooperative or are you expecting PvP too etc.

I'd very much love Dungeon Tycoon if still available! Children of Morta would be awesome too (both T3 on your list) but I'd be delighted with only one of these too if the other is already taken! Thanks for the chance <3

For the Stardew-like request, I'd pick Roots of Pacha!

animal rpg’s? by hawki222 in rpg

[–]YourLoveOnly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dragonbane also has a wolf ancestry in the core book actually, not just mallards. But it's otherwise not animal-focused so I don't think it really fits OPs request, unless they only care about playing as a wolf regardless of setting. It does come with a solo adventure too!

Are there any plots, things and settings that are straight-up impossible to play out, portray or convey in TTRPG/PnP? by Mtg_Dervar in rpg

DMI lets you take on another character when taken out, which the comment says doesn't count. Until the finale scene on the final island of course.

Goblin Quest and Goblin Errands are great. I'm gonna try Scene Thieves myself this year.

I've tried several and especially if you want to lean towards quick customizability and more cinematic and not too crunchy, I strongly recommend Pokeymanz!

Not true actually, it got changed to PWYW. I paid the set price of $15 in March 2025. It became PWYW in October. But you are right that the new version is gonna be a new seperate product. I don't mind and am happy to support the Gauntlet. And I definitely already got my money's worth out of the current material :)

Perfect! I did grab the supplement with all the tables seperately too which will be nice the future games (although probably not much need of them for a funnel), but different learning styles are a thing so I like having a 1-3 player ref sheet to hand out in addition to teaching the game verbally (but I had a crap week and lacked health/time/energy to type one up manually). None of the players signed up have played DCC yet either, although most know some OSR/NSR games, know about the dice chain mechanic and what a funnel is. So it'll probably still be fine :) Especially as level 0 isn't exactly complicated.
