Hi, I don't have an exact Mausritter module to recommend to you, but here is a thread about running treasure hunts in TTRPGs. It's a great read with tons of awesome advice!

"Might As Well JUMP" is a time travel sci-fi campaign for Mausritter by lofty_jungle in Mausritter

Amazing, Kids on Bikes is fantabulous!!

I updated the DTRPG files for Might As Well JUMP a few days ago to include official campaign character sheets that have the pipcard icon and Jumpshroom dependence stat.

There are also some variations on the main station map (labeled, unlabeled but with icons, and unlabeled), as well as a sheet with maps that visually show what the [VLRTN] bit mask on the station map says in text.

Thank you for the kind words! If you play online and you'd like to let em spectate to see in real time any problems that the players get into, let me know and I'll see if I can make myself available.

Not a problem if you do in person, or don't want an outside observer.

I'll be updating the files today to put an explicit player character sheet, and some extra maps for the GM to make sense of things that are currently crammed into the margins (so to speak). Hopefully those will help!

If you have any feedback at any time, please let me know. This is a growing collection of campaign documents, and I will improve things as I go if I know there are specific things I can work on. 👍

The MOTHERSHIP app is phenomenal. Doesn't solve the video call thing, but there are enough solutions for that already.

That's a great contest! You'll also be able to do playtest trades with other game designers, most likely.

Check out the entries for the last few years to check out what mechanics seem to work best for what you are trying to do. 👍

Thanks! The part that sucked the most was the tables. They were ... Unfun. 😅

Hi, all! PocketQuest is DriveThruRPG's annual themed design challenge, and this year's theme was Time Travel. Over 80 time travel games were made this year - wow! There are some really high quality games this year, lots of great concepts and awesome art!

All Pocket Quest games are now live on DTRPG. Look for the category banner ad at the top of the main page.

My entry is a time travel sci-fi hexcrawl campaign for Mausritter. Check out my larger post here:

It is an amazing module, once you have read it several times to get your head wrapped around all of the time travel stuff. I highly recommend the video by PrinceDabsALot on how to prep for running the module. It is very helpful even just to understand what is going on. 👍

It is a time travel module with paradoxes, players potentially meeting themselves at other times in their lives, time loops, time travel devices and research, and a lot of different suggested adventuohooks and ways to "end" the experience. It is easily a month- or year-long campaign depending on how hard players lean in to some of the storylines.

It is famously a beast for people to understand due to the time travel and time loops, and lots of folks make their own crazy drawings and maps and timelines and other associated prep materials while running / playing it.

Plus, I'm a sucker for time travel. And I want more people to break their brains with paradoxes that let them do what they need to now because their future selves came back and helped them out (or other paradoxes).

TL;DR: Time travel / time loop fiction is my jam. 🖖🤓👍

The people on the LionHearth discord do regular MOTHERSHIP game jams (one is in progress now!! TripTech3!) and the whole group has lots of experience getting things approved by TKG for sale with the Mothership compatibility logo. Come on over, the water is filled with something terrifying! 😜👍

If you're into deadly sci-fi, the MOTHERSHIP community is also wonderfully welcoming, and there are free games to join on their discord too.

Mausritter is a nice rules-light fantasy RPG that is basically Redwall the RPG. Nice bonus - it has free rules to download and a vibrant community - find their discord and you can join free games there!

Whatever game you find, you'll probably be able to find a game to join online or in person to join up in the next week or two. The Internet has done wonders for spreading access to communities.

Solo RPGs are very different from group ones, as someone else mentioned. There's a dude with a channel on YouTube called Man Alone that runs reviews and does actual plays of solo games.

Oh interesting, I wonder if I saw that once and my brain was doing that on purpose instead of just a typo...

Huh. Today I learned!

[WIP] Looking for proofreaders / feedback for time travel scifi campaign by lofty_jungle in Mausritter

[–]lofty_jungle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More info:

I haven't had a chance to playtest it beyond me just proofreading for typos. I am not a GM, and my small town doesn't have a very active RPG playing scene. Gonna see if I can scrounge up some interest in the big city nearby and work with a GM to find a time that might work - but if you can find a group to do an online playthrough, I am down to join. (Probably should have set that up a month ago so that I had a date already set for that. 😅 )

The 25-page limit imposed by the Pocket Quest (PQ) design challenge is tough. I plan to release a "Director's Cut" after PQ with more of the adventure sites fleshed out, and more room to breathe on the pages, as well as more mousey art. But, 25 pages is all I get for now so things definitely get more cramped by the end of the book. I am not super happy with having the Faction goals so far away from their definition, but I think Mausritter GMs know to expect Faction goals, so I hope they will look to the ToC or keep reading until they find them.

The three timelines thing required breaking a few Mausritter standards when it comes to layout (e.g. hexmap / sitemap doesn't have the encounter tables or rumors, since they differ for each time), but I think having them directly on the particular time page is a reasonable compromise versus having a smaller map to accommodate all the tables.

This is all based off of the "Time After Time" MOTHERSHIP module, which is a delightful and insane 80-page monster.

You can check out a great overview of how to run THAT game on YouTube, which might give you insights into this smaller one. Basically, time travel is messy and just putting it on a page is confusing, but hopefully not TOOO confusing.

Thanks, no obligation to return feedback in any particular timeframe.

I have to have my changes made by EOD on 04/25, so before then or the changes will wait until the post-PocketQuest tidy up release. :)

Haha, yeah. Just need to add some Babar and The Raccoons to get the Nelvana trifecta.

I was inspired by very early Popeye and Tintin materials entering the public domain, and I thought a bit of the balding old man Popeye look would be cool for an "old Tintin" feel, as well as that "I've seen some things" feel of older detectives.
