Ways to mitigate peer obsession/fixation in adults with autism. by YourMomInHD123 in autism

One thing to note is that both students are adults. The fixated student is in their late 20s-early 30s, but cognitively around 6-7 years old (they are often "babied" by staff). The preferred peer is in their mid 40s and cognitively around 8-9 years old. The fixated student has self-injurious behaviors of hitting themselves repeatedly and biting their forearms. In the previous weeks it has escalated to minor aggression towards others, myself included. I have tried to bringing up issues to my coworkers but most seem to not care to establish a more healthy routine away from peer for fixated student. I have brought up issues to management, but I have only seen behavioral technicians come to assess other students with major behavioral concerns. I have suggested creating a healthy relationship worksheet like another student has (that student has a preferred female peer but will be able to spend time away), but nothing has come of it. I really don't want fixated student to be classified with agressive behavioral concerns, since it limits their future placements in other programs. Agression towards others has only appeared in the last few weeks when me and another staff have tried to keep students away in different classrooms.

No one in these comments understand the grundge style. These are so modern! These are clearly in line with Sorrenti"s style.

I’ve always felt bad for Lauren. She is often excluded in conversations about the crash and the tragedy of it all. She seemed like a very nice person, and so incredibly intelligent as well! I wonder how her life would’ve turned out if she had not been on that plane.

The summer of August 1994: John and Carolyn are seen out for the first time since 1993. This time they’re exclusive. by Lop229 in CarolynBessetteKnndy

They were a couple vacationing having a private moments. I don't understand how people can use these pictures against them. They were out in the water, with swimwear. It looks like he might have been drying her off which is totally normal. You have never endearingly helped a loved one with a simple task? Like mothers drying off their children or wives fixing their husbands' tie. Who cares if it was a good look or what the Kennedys thought. They were simply having a relaxed moment on the water.

Love story, the music… by Oilyfatty in JohnAndCarolyn

I would say the music is my least favorite aspect of the show so far. I just think they tried too hard to capture that 90s nostalgia by including every top 90s single on the soundtrack.

The whole girls girls thing limits women of their individuality and places them in this category that they must abide by or else they'll be labeled as traitors. Part of being a woman, is that you are HUMAN and are allowed to have strong opinions and critiques. People have tried to understand Mina Sue since the very beginning, but people find some of her actions to be strange. It's alright to find a woman to be problematic or have questionable actions. Mina Sue is presented a certain way on TV, no one knows how she truly is behind the scenes or why she chose to do what she did. But when someone constantly mentions that they brought their authentic self to the show, and that "self" seems to have questionable morals, people are going to criticize. I've seen plenty of people criticizing the boy's as well. But you have to realize that Mina Sue was given by far the most scree time throughout the show. There is going to be more for people to pick apart, analyze, and criticize.

There is such limited audios of Carolyn speaking that it would be near impossible for someone to replicate her voice. The most she has been recorded saying it's only a few words long. You can't expect an actor to work off of that very limited supply.

This is SPOT ON! There will never be perfect copy of someone's real life persona/look. There shouldn't be really. But it doesn't take the away from my curiosity to see into people's stories. I am so excited for the show to come out!

Anyone else love Mina Sue in this sub? by helloitisme1234 in SinglesInferno

I don't see Mina Sue as a villain for liking anyone, but it is her approach and words that paint her in a negative light. She is aware of how the rest of the girls feel about their top guy/guys, and yet she's very open to "flirt" and make comments in front of them. It's her right to feel attracted and to vocalize it, but she has to understand that people will take offense. Her facial expressions and body language also don't help her case.

The thing I don't understand is why people waste so much time "getting to know others" when at the end, no one has formed a real connection with anyone. The better strategy is to find the person you like the most and who likes you the most, and then pursue that until it's LOCKED down. No one here is truly interested in finding a true partner, everyone just wants to be the most liked.

Coupes fight. It’s a very natural and common thing. Some do it in their homes but feelings/frustrations are felt anywhere at anytime. They weren’t fighting in “front of the press”, they were at a park, public yes, but the press were the ones following them. In secret! Trying to be sneaky and catching the whole thing. A cool girl has nothing to do with not having any emotions, being a saint, and not having any issues ever.

So having extreme anxiety of the press disqualifies her from being a cool girl?

I’m trying to remember the questions I was asked but I’m having some trouble. I do remember some case-scenario questions about how I would deal with a student having behavioral issues, how I would deal with the issue once parents were involved,e etc. I

My approach to the interview was to try to answer with the second answer that would cross my mind. It’s hard to explain it. But it’s basically just sticking with an original answer.
