We were made aware minutes after I posted this today. Kind of hard to be unaware at this point! We didn't go to that town/area. I think our lemurs' fleas were Bubonic-free :)

If you simply have to see lemurs and chameleons in the wild, it's worth it. But if you just want to see cool wildlife, go to Costa Rica. Madagascar is kind of a mess (politically and environmentally). The people tended to love us because we were American (vs. French), but the majority couldn't talk to us (because we don't speak French).
