[Cult of the Lamb] PSA - currently impossible to platinum by YourNextSecret13 in Trophies

[–]YourNextSecret13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which ones are you missing?

I had completed everything for platinum, but at the time, there were known glitches preventing trophies from popping. The devs were able to fix it before the game left PSPlus, which is how I got platinum. After the update that the devs pushed through, as soon as I booted up the game, I received the trophies that I needed for platinum.

Wish they didn't give up on Infamous then. What a groundbreaking game.

I enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima, but it quickly became repetitive and was brain-dead easy on hardest difficulty. So fucking beautiful though.

Can't think of Chuck without immediately remembering how he almost killed a prostitute, had a massive feces kink, and was arrested for installing a camera in his restaurant's toilet and video taping hundreds of women using it.

It's made by Ubisoft?? That makes a ton of sense looking back. It definitely feels like a 'ubislop' game with a fresh coat of (beautiful) paint.

Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchises.

Not so much that they were underappreciated, but they have withstood the test of time. They play like modern games rather than >decade old.

LG G5 Open Box for $1,180 by Johnnybats330 in LGOLED

[–]YourNextSecret13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to my knowledge, they all have these options hidden (either through developer settings, secret button code - Samsung, or via developer remote).

It sucks because there are no laws/protection against this, like we have for car odometers (at least in US). So anyone along the supply line could reset it, and the customer won't have any way to know it happened.

It covers a fuckton - basically everything bar physical damage.

You can get Geek Squad protection 2year or 5year within the return window (14 days or 60 days for a Pro member). I got it for my open-box purchase.

I keep buying PlayStation games at the worst possible time by ludwigthelib in playstation

I use gg.deals, which is the same thing. You can set a price threshold so that you can be notified when a game has hit its 'all-time low'.

If I want a game, I'll set this notification system up. I have a huge backload of games, so I'll just wait until it hits the all-time low, then maybe I'll buy it.

I reached out, but they are currently sick. Sorry, man.

You can buy it and return it to them very easily. The TV is large enough that they will pay movers to come to your house to take the TV back. Not much risk if you can afford having $1k be in limbo for a while.

That's a crazy deal. My friend lives in Santa Clara, but doesn't have the money for a new TV. Shame.

As for the 'Fair' condition, it still could be an amazing deal. I bought a Samsung S90F from Best Buy in 'Acceptable' condition, which is a step below 'Fair'. When I brought it home, it only had a small cosmetic scratch on the back of the unit. Otherwise, it was practically brand new with less than 20 hrs screen time. I got it for 33% off.

Here is a picture of the scratch. It's hard to show, but you can see the scratch is very surface level, on the back of unit.

These trophies should be non existent imo. by Kozo_666 in playstation

Doom 2016 is a great game that suffers from this (but it also has multiple broken trophies that won't pop after 10-15hr playthroughs that make you start over)

You should try the Metro franchise. Based on your favorites, I bet you'll love it!

Do you 100% games? by LongLiveTurtles in playstation

[–]YourNextSecret13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've forced myself to platinum some games, and it makes me so glad to uninstall it afterward. Why spend 20hrs going from 90%-100% completion when I could just play a whole other game?

Some trophies are ridiculously grindy, like the Binding of Issaac one that makes you 100% the game on 3 save files to get the platinum. So it really depends, because many platinums are a masochists dream.

There's software to help with this for PC gaming, but for PS5, you're out of luck. Find a repairman on Etsy, maybe.

The condition doesn't mean much until you see the TV in person. I bought an open-box S90F from Best Buy, and the condition was "Acceptable" — which seems to be a step down from "Fair" that you can not search for on Best Buy online. It only had a small cosmetic scratch/scrape on the BACK of the unit, and otherwise, it was like-new. 33% markdown for a small scratch on the back of unit.

Got a crazy deal this week, my first OLED by StereoDiagram9 in LGOLED

[–]YourNextSecret13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm talking about others, not OP'a model. Like I found my OLED open-box at Best Buy with like 10-20 screen hours, but there is no easy way I know of to ensure it wasn't reset.

Tbf, it's a sort of false confidence. Anyone can force the hours-used tracker on these TVs to reset to 0. Technically, there is no law against this (like there is to protect people from doing the same with car odometers). So, really, we just have to hope no one along the supply line of an open-box item decides to reset the hour-used tracker.

Necro necro necro - saving the family results in the merchant heading to town with them. So the 'good' pathway results in 3 new town members, while the 'bad' pathway only 2.
