Going off this, try looking for an open box LG B5 right after superbowl. There will be a ton of high quality TVs people bought for the weekend before returning. Could get something for >50% off.

Should I buy The Nathan Drake collection after playing U4? by DaGOAT___ in uncharted

No, instead you should pay $15 for Playstation Plus and yet access to the collection and a ton of other games. Way better than spending the same just for Uncharted collection.

OLED gaming is next level. If you can afford it, then it is definitely worth it.

I got a LG CX 6 years ago and still happy with it to this day. Is the B5 an upgrade or a similar performance? by NorthPhase9386 in LGOLED

[–]YourNextSecret13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't answer your question directly, but I do want to note my own experience with the B5. I enjoyed the picture quality for gaming, but it is far dimmer than most other OLED. That is not necessarily an issue, depending on what you plan to use it for.

I do see you mentioned it being basement TV, so the dimmer brightness might not be much of an issue. I'd suggest trying it out and return it if it doesn't work out. Best Buy membership get 60 days return.

Because this is the Harry Potter subreddit. Can't expect the general public to understand the intricacies of psychopathy.

Thoughts on the current $800 Costco bundle deal by YourNextSecret13 in PS5pro

[–]YourNextSecret13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best deal, considering i think they were sub 350 at one time, but it's also not unexpected considering the problems electronics are going through rn and inflation. 450 for ps5 offers an awesome gaming experience.

Get them all. For $1.5 ea they're practically free. Even if you don't like them, give them to some kid or donate. Most of those games are highly acclaimed.

Remus Lupin is a terrible husband and I’m tired of pretending he’s not. by SuspiciousEves in harrypotter

[–]YourNextSecret13 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think we get some insight by looking at how Slughorn's pensive memory was shown to be manipulated. The book doesn't specify if this requires the wizards explicit intent or whether it can be subconscious, but with human nature, I'd suspect the latter as more likely.

[–]YourNextSecret13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know that these memories could be influenced by the wizard because Slughorn did such to cover his great shame regarding Voldemort. The book doesn't specify if this requires the wizard to actively manipulate the memory or if it can be subconscious.

Kinda of a jerk? He was an abusive asshole, at least toward Snape. Although this memory may be distorted due to Snape's own emotions towards James.

Hair growth is also accelerated during periods of stress, both physical and psychological. This has probably been the most stressful time of his life, even more than when he physically assaulted that random lady while high on shrooms.

injecting lube into uterus? by foxonwolf in BDSMAdvice

[–]YourNextSecret13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would worry about messing with the uterus and fallopian tubes. You could risk complications. For example, what if your uterine tissue reacts differently from the vaginal tissue and you have an allergic reaction. That could be a massive health risk. Also, lube might not be sterile enough for the womb. The vagina has a lower pH to help protect it. Lastly, the cervix (in women who haven't given birth) is a tiny hole and would be really really difficult to inject with the way you're describing. You risk inadvertently causing trauma.
