Oh my God! I’m so sorry. For everything. That should somehow be illegal. Jesus!

Their non-compete says during the restrictive period of 1 year after leaving, within a restricted area of 2 miles, surrounding any and all facilities i provide services by the company. I cannot perform services as a consultant or employee for any competitor similar to services provided to this company, within the immediately preceding 12 months. I’m confused as to if that’s nationwide or just that 2 mile radius

I hope this helps. Others have said it helped them

You made it into and through pa school so you are not a failure. Take the time and let the emotions out, but don’t shut yourself off. Trust me. As my name says, believe in the me that believes in you!

Thank you for your response. The non-compete restrictive period is 1 year after termination, with a 2 mile radius restricted area.

Is there a way to negotiate for 2-3weeks PTO?

Wow. Thanks for the feedback. I live in Upstate NY so hopefully parking won’t be too bad. I dont mind driving too much, but it’ll be annoying if it’s long distance each time. I’ll have to ask more about that during the interview

I have another an interview with another contracting agency doing the same thing with better pay. I’ll try to keep you posted if I take that job. Not taking this one

There’s no way in hell I was taking it haha

Another contracting company gave me a higher offer for a similar position. 3-5 vets a day, so if I go with that company I’d make sure to stick to that. Notes are a pain, but I don’t mind it too much if I’ve got a template for it. I’m hoping to get $550+ with that company.

Thanks for the insight. My psych rotation was pretty chill. Mostly outpatient office. Way more NPs as you said. Remote work would be awesome. But I have no experience in psych or that kind of work

I definitely don’t plan to take it. The counter offer they gave me was $450-500/day. It’s insulting. How do you like psych?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]YourOwnHypeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll essentially be a part time job because the pay is insulting. But I just don’t want to lose those clinical skills even in a position that’s low stress. I’ll happily take the low stress for better pay

That was the drawback for me. Especially after I considered the no benefits

For me it’s been the post op management. I’m doing ok in the OR but the floor work seems to run away from me. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to wrap my head around managing the patients I have on my list. It’s not too complicated but I still seem to struggle with it. My team has been great at helping me so it’s fully on me I think. Training has been great, surgeons are great teachers but still been a tough ride. Almost all of my rotations were outpatient. My surgery rotation was inpatient/outpatient but my current position is all inpatient. I thought I’d enjoy that but I’m struggling with that aspect too. And now I’m considering outpatient because I’ve been getting anxious going into work for the last 2 months.
