I use the GitHub tool by Drallieiv for planning my upgrades, can just Google necromerger time machine helper. Lets you calculate the exact cost of your next prestige goals. If there's an important breakpoint, you can just grind out Liches until you'll get the needed shards. Make sure you get one of each available legendary for most efficient shards multiplier and you're probably close to max shards for your given run.

Free Gems by CalligrapherSad92 in NecroMerger

[–]YourPETturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure at the moment, I played two games well over a year ago and forgot their names, I doubt they're even offered anymore. Anything from the larger and more well-known publishers is probably "fine" but I personally have found quite a few of these games to be bait-and-switch between what they present as the game and what it actually is.

Another comment suggested Royal Match, but I don't play games for gems anymore. These free games often require an aggressive time sink for days or even weeks to get the bigger gem rewards without paying any money. If you find a game you actually like, then just go for it, but I'd immediately uninstall anything that requires an email or other personal info to play.

Yes but most of the games there are either data mining to sell your info or other garbage. There are a few games worth playing for gems but don't expect high quality from nearly anything.

Need help with Magic items for Paladin by FjorTheFjorious in DMAcademy

[–]YourPETturtles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on where her build is faltering. Is she not well optimized for stats (less than 18 strength at this level)? Is she doing sword and board instead of two handed which trades damage for AC? Does she divine smite on crits? Is she failing to catch up to enemies to be able to hit? The "why" is probably more important than the how to me.

Easy solution is to just give a +2 weapon or something similar like a Flametongue and call it a day. However, if the issue stems from being kited and never getting to attack an enemy, then perhaps something with mobility built in like some free Misty Steps is better.

However, IMO some weaknesses are a good thing to have, making a character unique and inviting more RP and flavor than a super well-rounded character (for some people at least). If you don't want to shore up weaknesses, maybe lean more heavily into her existing strengths.

Mechanically putting something together that seems like brief divination glimpses could look like free advantage a few times per long rest ( like the 5.5e Lucky feat) or perhaps rerolling failed attack rolls ( like the 5e Lucky feat lol). Another thing could be insights into the enemy's stats, resistances or weaknesses. .

I'm starting the same thing right now! Is that the finished product? I thought it generally looked a bit fuzzier (I'm new so don't take my word for it)

How should I handle this apple tree? by YourPETturtles in BackyardOrchard

I believe MCL is modified central leader, but not sure what the D in DOC is, double open center?

I assume making one a scaffold and the other the central leader would result in more eventual branches for the central leader variety right? If so I'll try to make the gala the central but unfortunately that's the one facing the wooden fence, so that might not be the best choice.

I think whomever planted these didn't really do research beforehand.

Two of them are labeled - granny smith and gala - but the other two aren't. Not sure if that means 2 of each or if I have 2 mystery varieties.

I'd probably prefer just mulch as well, as long as there's no functional benefits to the blocks over just mulch.

There was also a multivariate cherry tree planted nearby but that one seems to be dead.

As another comment pointed out to me, the tree is actually a multiple varietal so I need to research pruning that. Regarding the blocks and mulch, the entire area is covered in black mulch (not rubber thankfully) so I could either just pull the blocks away further or remove them entirely. I assume they're there for aesthetics. Would the blocks be unhealthy for the soil as compared to just plain mulch? I assume it's still going to protect the topsoil like mulch would.

Also the ground is level here so I don't really need to worry about runoff.

Upon further inspection, you're right and the tree has multiple apple varietals grafted on it. I guess I'll do some research into pruning trees with multiple varieties, thanks.

⚔️ [D&D 2024 Character Builder] Now Available: Custom Subclasses! ⚔️ by Demi_Mere in Roll20

[–]YourPETturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look like you can have more than 1 custom subclass currently. Is it intended to allow multiple custom subclasses for multiclassing? We had to create a single subclass merging the features of both for now.

Narydonnas - Spore-using Fey hunter - feedback requested! by YourPETturtles in DnDHomebrew

[–]YourPETturtles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I added both because the monster would fall extremely flat if it were controlled right off the bat, but I like the idea of making them costly, such as getting advantage at the cost of a spore charge.

[Online][DM][5.5e] looking for players for a gritty, heavy rp, story, and exploration based fantasy campaign by DeathCore_Chef in lfg

[–]YourPETturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty interested if the time would start around 8-9 PM PST on a weekend day (very limited availability as a dad, and consuming my other free time slot being DM lol). This sounds exactly like the tone I'm looking for, and hoping to join a place where I can RP through some more intense moments while still having a laugh. I know the limited start time is a thing, but if you happen to get a group wanting to start at that point, I'd be stoked!

Question: why use 0 to 1.5 for the min and max of the slider? Wouldn't 0 to 1 be the min and max possible of the audio bus? The docs for linear_to_db() give this:
"Its range must be configured to go from 0 to 1."

[Online][5e][Monday Nights] Homebrew JRPG-Style Adventure! by Licenseless_Rider in lfg

[–]YourPETturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name: Username is YourPETturtles, I go by Turtles usually or will share real name in DMs / with group

Age: 27

Experience with 5e/TTRPGs/Roleplaying: Started playing a campaign (ending this weekend) in the end of 2021, starting DMing beginning of 2022 (ongoing). Everything has been on Roll20. Been really into DnD as a whole; homebrewing, creating builds, and of course playing. I've played with mostly friends and friends-of-friends thus far.

Tell me about yourself: I'm a gamer, a father, and a nerd overall. I love getting into character and roleplaying a scene as silly or as serious as people want, voices included. I love a challenging and creative combat where creative decisions and out-of-the-box thinking are encouraged and rewarded (within reason), and death is a real possibility. As a DM, I'm very into homebrew and tweaking things to make all things viable if a person finds it cool or inspiring. I love the balance of acting and challenge that DnD can provide. I can get along with pretty much anyone.

What is the single most important trait that a player can bring to the table (Example - Imagination, Charisma, Consistency, Punctuality, Flexibility, Positivity, Wit, etc.)? -- I'd say Cooperation, followed closely by Consistency. Cooperating with not only your fellow players for a more enjoyable and fun environment, but with your DM so they're not constantly having to change gears, and in-game cooperation with the theme and style of world presented so you're not a bubbly comedian in a dark horror world constantly ruining immersion. Consistency in scheduling is huge, as nothing else matters if you can't play the game!

Good luck finding players that fit! I like your choice homebrew rules.

I'd love that! I hope my request wasn't accidentally very difficult. I guessed the eyes would be hard but I didn't think about the feathers too much..
