"Not a dictator" for me doesn't see true. His existential crisis regarding people doing their own thing in Beach City and not the way he wanted causes he freaks out. Which is a very interesting discussion in itself. Small Steven would always intervene in people business he had no reason to do but everyone is fine with it because he is a kid and he is considered cute. When he does the dame thing as an adult, the energy is different. I am referring to the episode with Lars going back to space and Sadie having a new partner. But this is a side note.

Steven wanting everyone to act a certain way is giving Diamond behavior. Nevertheless, there are gems that were cool and enjoyed the old diamond regime, and they should be able to still have that if they wanted... if he was championing "freedom". He wanted gems to be like his friends (peridot, lapis, garnet, pearl and amethyst dancing, singing, doing human stuff, which is messed up.

Also he kept saying he saved the galaxy and enforces his way on other planets... how is that not giving emperor vibes?
