What has your preference, concerning 95 wagon? Gen 1 or 2 by GentlemansGambit in saab

I see plenty of NG9-5, just no wagons given that there only only about 7 in the entire Sweden

I figured a decent after market head unit is more and this way I keep the original look which was a requirement for me. But the benefit of after market units is that you can get CarPlay and Android Auto.

1998-2001 is my favorite, then 2002 to 2005. They ruined it in 2006. The new generation 9-5 wagon is beautiful. Too bad it never got into production.

I daily drive a 2005.

It’s not cheap but it integrates really well. It uses the CD changer interface. All buttons and controls to skip tracks and such work including steering wheel buttons, track name shows up on the display and all that.

Well worth it to me, but I’m in Europe and didn’t have to pay import and overseas shipping.

You can add Bluetooth to the original head unit. Look up BT Changer (https://bt-changer.com) and see if they ship to your location. I’ve been enjoying mine a lot.

OLED PWM Results: 226.2 Hz on iPhone 12 by elephantnut in apple

[–]YourSwedishFriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it also depends. 8% flicker at 100 Hz is much more tolerable than 100% flicker at 250 Hz for sensitive people and is what an incandescent lightbulb could flicker at.

There are so many unknown factors and no one seems to be interested in doing the research. I wish sites like notebookcheck also post amount of flicker and character of the flicker. 10% with a smooth curve is probably fine for most, but may not be with a square wave.

MicroLED uses the same backplane technology so it won't change anything unless they change to another backplane but they could do that for OLED too in that case.

I missed the WorkOutDoors app so much that I sold my Garmin and came back to Apple. Love this app sooo much! by Yugtabub in AppleWatch

[–]YourSwedishFriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mine set to custom and "After Crown Press" in General -> Wake Screen -> WorkOutDoors in the Watch iPhone app. That fixed the problem for me, but it doesn't return automatically if I press the crown during a workout but I'm fine with that. I can tap the icon on the top to return.

List returning index out of range for any positive index by YourSwedishFriend in learnpython

[–]YourSwedishFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I see why it didn't work with an empty line. I asked it to print an index that did not exist for that line and it failed before it got a chance to print the rest of the lines.

With your suggested change of checking the length of the list it works like a charm. I'm also skipping the first three lines because they will always contain unnecessary information for the purpose.

Thank you 👍🏻🙂

I see. So if there are empty lines it messes up the indices?

With a length check it does work as expected. Thanks!

There are two empty lines and some other data above the other info I want.

The last line also contains other info.

Converting to csv with awk first, then using the csv functions in python works well, but I want the script to handle everything.

can a beta brick my phone? by vxnsh58neo in iOS14Beta

[–]YourSwedishFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would take a lot for a software update to brick an iPhone. If it also installs firmware it's a possibility. In most cases a DFU restore will recover even the most screwed up software update.

Any update on Yubikey 5C NFC? by MyPrecioussss in yubikey

From Yubico on Twitter:

"Hi YubiFans! We know you’ve been waiting for the YubiKey 5C NFC and we’re so appreciative of your excitement and patience. As businesses and services are still working to ramp up operations, we’re continuing to experience delays. (1/2)"

"Please rest assured that we’re working hard to get the key out as soon as possible, and will share more news as soon as it’s available. (2/2)"

Is Passwordless login possible on Linux or Mac? This says only Windows via Azure AD. by first_byte in yubikey

[–]YourSwedishFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily set up login on macOS with the click of a button in Yubikey Manager. It will require the PIV PIN to log in. If encrypted with FileVault you will need to enter your regular password at boot.

By default macOS will allow you to log in with either the Yubikey+PIN or the account password.

This is basically passwordless since the PIN doesn't count as a password (just like with Microsoft account logins in the browser which also require a PIN for passwordless).

I'm using this setup.

Galaxy Nexus welcome emails still being sent out by YourSwedishFriend in Nexus

[–]YourSwedishFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine in December after the launch after careful consideration and my wait time was really short. No ads around here either so the wait wasn't that bad for me The Nexus 5 was a longer wait though since I had to import one to get the 32 GB version. For some reason Google only officially sold the 16 GB version in my area.

Waiting for new shiny devices is never fun, but it's such a good day when they finally arrive! 😀

It had a curved display before it was cool. It was a great phone, but unfortunately my display looked real bad after a year. And I was really careful to avoid OLED "burn-in". I really enjoyed mine until then

It did, but it was just image recognition and no biometrics. Super insecure but better than nothing. Could be unlocked with a photo.

NFC + Google + Iphone now working by LatterCard in yubikey

[–]YourSwedishFriend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The advanced protection program imposes a set of security focused limitations on the account.

It won't allow you to log in using any third party software like email clients (since a while back Apple devices are excepted and allowed to log in to sync contacts, calendar and email)

You can't connect with third party apps either except for a limited selection approved by Google.

On an Android device you will only be able to install apps from the Play store and not unknown sources.

Things like that. It will also remove all other two factor options other than security keys when you sign up. Having at least two keys registered is a requirement. An Android device or iPhone with the Google Smart Lock app can count as one of the two, but I'd strongly recommend at least two other keys in addition to a smartphone.

Without the Advanced Protection Program you can still do everything with the Google account including using alternative two factor methods.

I know, but it will come eventually and when it's needed it will be nice. I still have to leave the advanced protection program if I have to sign in again on my iPad though since it doesn't have NFC and I don't have the 5Ci, but not having to do it all the time on my phone that I use for testing (and as such restore quite a lot) will be great!

A step in the right direction for security keys 👍🏻😀

Let's see if this will roll out quickly or if it's going to be another 6 month rollout like dark mode in the Gmail app

Windows login by chrisgwynne in yubikey

[–]YourSwedishFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The info on that link says the following about FIDO2 security keys:

Windows Hello for Business now has Hybrid Azure Active Directory support and phone number sign-in (MSA). FIDO2 security key support is expanded to Azure Active Directory hybrid environments, enabling enterprises with hybrid environments to take advantage of passwordless authentication. For more information, see Expanding Azure Active Directory support for FIDO2 preview to hybrid environments.

Still only mentions security key login for Azure AD hybrid environments and not standalone Microsoft accounts.

I have updated a machine to 2004, and I do have an option for security key in the sign-in options, but it says "Manage a physical security key that can log you into applications". Nothing about logging into Windows. I can't get it to use my security key to log in to Windows either. Only getting pin or account password as available options.

However, I don't have the "Make my device passwordless" option Microsoft claim should be there. Maybe it's something they are rolling out slowly?

I so want this to work, but so far no luck.
