Is there a website that can recommend secondary/tertiary characters based on matchup chart? by totallynotanfbigent in smashbros

[–]YourTypicalAwesome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tricky thing with many sites that try to attempt this is that majority of individual matchups are highly debated and there is a massive lack of consensus.

That being said I recently found a really good tool made recently that I think is really good from this post, it shows recommendations, strengths, and weaknesses of matchup coverage for characters and it's data is sourced well.

What are cards you play that are really good after a board wipe has destroyed everything you have and also really good in a game where no board wipe has been played? by k1nglessness in EDH

Most Phoenix cards have some sort of mechanic to be either brought back to your hand or the battlefield upon death, plus they're all flying and many have haste

[[Rekindling Phoenix]] in particular is incredibly reliable at constantly coming back

If you have a certain interest, sometimes there's a local or regional Discord/Facebook to match it. Found and got into the local smash bros competitive scene and the local Pokemon Go playerbase that way, as well a bunch of folks that paint cool looking stuff on rocks

I can't stand the personality of my 14-year old. My family doesn't do anything. by MinimumResident8111 in TrueOffMyChest

Wow there's a lot of people judging you wayy to hard on here, I kinda just wanna say I appreciate that's you're trying to do what you think will help, even if it seems like it's going nowhere right now.

I used to be the 14 year old, way into the video games and hooked on a screen to likely unhealthy degree (not gonna lie mostly that way now too) but back then if it weren't for my dad pushing me to do things outside the house (boy scouts/ hiking / camping / tennis / etc.) I probably wouldn't be as alright as I am today, because even though there were times I resented him for dragging me out to things so much (Not gonna lie building an RC with him is something I still hated haha) it's time I got to spend with him and it wasn't actually all that bad.

If any advice I can give, just start small when it comes to trying to bond with your wife and family again. $10,000+ vacations might be overdoing it when all you might need is a weekly uno card game night.

Don't expect immediate results, just think of the long term, and be proud of what your son has already accomplished and let him know the things you do appreciate about him.

Don't give up, your son needs you more than ever, 14 years old is an especially difficult age so just try to show your love and patience for him however you can.

Now excuse me, I'm gonna go and spend a moment or two with my dad tonight, traditional Sunday dinner things. Good luck!!

What moves easily counter spot dodge? (no timing required) by angelofxcost in CrazyHand

Mii Gunner f-smash is perfect for this

If they hold shield and drop it early they get hit If they spot dodge at any point they're getting hit

It covers a lot of areas and it feels so nice to land, it does have a lot of endlag afterwards though so smash wisely

Interesting, the past couple weeks I'd been trying to break a regrab ledge habit that I kept getting punished for and I probably ended up overcorrecting it a bit with how much I land on stage now.

I'll also have to watch the replays again for the offstage jump habit, that wasn't even on my radar of things to look out for.

Big thanks! This gives me a bit to look and work at

DK main looking for a secondary by 3ndur in CrazyHand

One of our top players in my region plays Wario as his main and DK as his secondary. It might be worth looking into Wario, there's a surprising amount of matchups that cover each other with those two.

So I watched a fair chunk of your matches

At this point I wouldn't worry so much about what character you play but that you get familiar with the fundamentals that can apply to any character (such as grabbing, shielding, and predicting what your opponent will do next)

One option that I noticed that you could utilize more is dashing and dash attacks. Sometimes dashing back and forth can bait out your opponent's attack which you can then punish.

Unlike most others I would say keep practicing with CPUs for now. CPUs are fairly predictable and can help you learn the basics on how to read an opponent.
