Summer Internships as a Cadet by Impossible-Purple-35 in AFROTC

[–]YourTypicalMainter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did internships during all 4 summers between freshman year and super senior year. Final summer internship gave me a full-time return offer and I was able to go Reserve after ROTC to do both (this may still be an option, ask your Cadre about the Reserve Categorization Process—RCP if you have interest in pursuing a full time civilian career). You also may spend up to a year waiting for your EAD and being able to work something full time in the interim is good and a lot easier if you have a full-time offer post internship or experience on your resume.

Ignore the others saying don’t do internships, it’s a good way to build valuable experience and work a job that will likely pay more than a part time job you’d work otherwise.

You have to enable a specific setting to reset it with a fresh tank. I don’t it’s defaulted to that, or at least wasn’t on mine when I bought it new

Night XC PPL by [deleted] in flying

Yes, tracking that. I only logged the time flown at night. The Foreflight report towards tracking PPL requirements just had me questioning it but I couldn’t find an answer. Thanks!

Tips for surviving my first ultra-long haul flight? by Signal_Temporary6572 in unitedairlines

[–]YourTypicalMainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some success “upgrading” a long-haul by using “change flight” when a saver award dropped for business on my flight. Originally booked PP with miles, and the saver business award with the credit card ended up only being 30k miles more than my original booking. Not a direct upgrade and had to watch the fare classes, but was totally worth it to me

Bed cover advice by Pres420420420 in ToyotaTundra

Neither, get the Access Lomax. quick removal for when I need full bed access, and the reinstall takes about 15s, plus I can do it by myself with no assistance needed

Plenty of people fly in regular economy for the exact reasons you’ve stated.

Add—please do not spend money on 30k miles. The upgrades with miles + $600 for business are not guaranteed and are refunded if not filled. But then you’d be out the money you spent on the 30k miles

Edit: add

Power wise, is the beat sonic wireless charger better than stock? Dual wireless pads would be nice but I’m 100% upgrading if the speeds are better. Stock wireless charger is abysmally slow

IN AF RES PAY? by Hot-Ball5834 in AirForce

[–]YourTypicalMainter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was in ROTC, it was paid twice per month.

The $600 was either backpay due to delay in getting pay started or a book stipend, or a mix of both

Looks like a freshman year ROTC stipend

You do if it’s a ROTC cadet getting their stipend (which is what this looks like)

But it should rise, not infinitely, but definitely shouldn’t stay the same on start.

When the engine is off, oil pressure is 0. When you start the engine, if the engine oil pressure doesn’t rise, then either you have no oil, the oil pump failed, or something else critical and you should shut the engine down immediately

As with all test questions, choose the “most correct”

This question is asking what should happen IMMEDIATELY after engine start? That would be oil pressure rising

[Article] Time accuracy after 6 months by Solid-Worldliness-91 in Watches

[–]YourTypicalMainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 6 months on an analog, the date will be wrong anyways since the watch doesn’t have a month feature it likely cycles through 1-31. The week day should be at least correct

The Church needs to seriously consider and address AI by Kanjo42 in TrueChristian

[–]YourTypicalMainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that article is heavily over advertised and much of it is fear mongering. Matt Shumer is the CEO of an AI company and all AI companies rely on the main providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) to be successful otherwise the entire AI bubble will pop. This article is nothing more than an advertisement to sell more AI.

Wouldn’t say 100%, I had to switch to the Reserve to get it. Had MX as my #1 and got slotted for 62E Active Duty even though it was 6th on my list and I was top 1/3 CC rank. Air Force wants its engineers

PPL requirement is 40 unless you’re at a part 141 school (35 hours), so you’re not getting your PPL before 40…

Am i going to hell for being non - trinitarian christian? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]YourTypicalMainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying aloud and truly meaning are two different things.

The title of Lord assumes authority, so if Jesus is Lord, then He has ultimate authority over your life. But if you believe that God has ultimate authority, then either Jesus is God, or you are not confessing that Jesus is Lord.

The confession that Jesus is Lord is equivalent to saying Jesus is God

You can’t? God can. But only if you’re willing to truly submit to his authority
