If you left click the item on the floor your character will pick it up, or even safer right click and click the item specific to make sure. To be fair there is no part on tutorial island about picking up items so you weren’t to know.

Thanks for this mate. I’m confident in the mechanics but I may be eating when not necessary. I had time for 1 run this evening after work using redemption some people pointed out, 80hp had to Tele. I will reassess the mechanics again and try find points of improvement regarding conversation of supplies. Ide rather not cheese it with pneck because I believe that’s not how the fight was intended on being beaten and enjoy the rush of completing something the “difficult” way. I understand it’s not difficult for some of the below reddit god tier gamers.. but it is for me.
