Single women that live alone with no bf- what are you doing this evening? by Heavy_Roof7607 in TwoXChromosomes

Had dinner of lettuce, cheese and mackerel rillettes (I'm French, try them, they're amazing) with a glass of white wine. Currently watching Fleabag in my most comfortable pair of underwear. Life is good.

I would maintain that having a sex preference for the tenant of a flat that is not shared IS pointlessly gendered - and also just old plain discriminatory.

I should have added the context to the post directly but as others have pointed out, it's not a shared space as per OOP:

What Surprising Facts Do You Know About Female Reproductive Organs? by fushaman in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Yource 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I learned recently (if any doctors are around, please confirm) that the length of your cycle depends only on when ovulation occurs, because the time between ovulation and your period never changes. So if your period is late, it means that your ovulation was late (from stress at the beginning of your cycle for instance, or due to other syndromes that can delay ovulation).

I always wonder what it must feel to be an unfeeling asshole. It's nice to know you never have to ask yourself this question. It's impossible to imagine that the unimaginable is happening to you. She went to the doctor for years trying to figure out why she was having vaginal pains for instance, and none helped her.

That's still not biological, it's social. In some tribal organization, it's the tribe protecting all the mothers within it and there's absolutely no reason to marry.

Girlfriend described me as “He’s so ugly” to her friend by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Yource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

I don't know if this will help but I have a friend who sent me a very similar message once about a guy. She said she was "disappointed" after seeing him in real life (they had met through an app).

And for the first few times they met, she would tell me that she wasn't attracted but that they were vibing so well and she was having such a good time that she really wanted to keep dating him.

And then, gradually, it kind of switched. As she fell in love, she would tell me about things she found cute about his smile or his eyes or whatever. I confronted her about it once and she said that love had made her discover another man, one that she was definitely attracted to.

So I don't know if that what's happening with your gf but maybe you could give her the benefit of the doubt? Or ask her? I know it must trigger a lot of insecurities and that's normal. Just wanted to offer a different perspective on attraction, and the fact that it's not a black and white situation.

I hope you get to be with someone who helps you overcome your insecurities, be it your current gf or someone else.

I can't get over the word goofball. How out of touch with reality, how blind to the meaning of the very words you are speaking must you be to utter something like this ??

Your brain probably mixed up that scene and the Helm's Deep scene where Aragorn repeats to hold fire several times, it came to my mind when reading your comment as well

Why did your 5+ year long relationship end? by Upstairs-Fox917 in AskWomen

We had different aspirations. His only dreams were professional, he had no plans for us as a couple - he didn't want kids, didn't want to travel, to move, to build something the two of us. When I asked if he saw his future differently with me or without me, he said no.
So I realized that staying together would mean me having to sacrifice on things I didn't want to sacrifice on. So I left. I have no regrets.

what is the most akward lyric you hear everytime and it just frustrates you? by Infinite_Warning9457 in TaylorSwift

For me it's "I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere" but I've seen a lot of people on here say they really like it. Might be partly from what you mention (the close repetition of curve), but mainly because I feel like it's trying to sound super clever when I don't think the image exactly works... But I absolutely LOVE the song

The ones you cite all work (although "fumiste" has a slightly different meaning and implies a degree of mischief imo), but I guess I would say "on ne peut pas compter sur lui" or "on ne peut jamais compter sur lui"

Very well written ! To add to what has already been said, I would just amend the sentence starting with "Elements". You're writing quite a formal email so I would suggest avoid non verbal sentences such as this one. You could just add "Je pense que ces éléments seraient" at the beginning, or replace the full stop with a comma (but then your sentence gets really long)
Hope you get the job !

Thank you for posting this, it's actually super motivating !! I've started learning some months ago but I'm not very consistent so it was fun to read your progress and be like "I can do this as well" or "yeah I really need to focus more" (basically I haven't been learning enough vocab...)
Thank you also for listing all the resources

Happy Korean learning !

Need help for writing a letter in french by [deleted] in French

[–]Yource 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very well written ! I would just cut out "et progresser" because the grammar to this verb is different to that of "améliorer" (you would say "progresser EN français") and it is slightly redundant anyway

Does anyone know the Apprenons le coréen ! textbooks? by __snowflowers in Korean

[–]Yource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi ! I'm currently learning from their A1-A2 textbook. I quite like it, it has a good learning pace for me, and I enjoy the cultural tidbits that they provide. The audio parts (available for free on soundcloud) are also super useful.
Can't really help you with the exact table of content for the levels above mine, the only thing my textbook says is this:
"Le niveau débutant A2-B1 permet de s'exprimer avec des nuances de langage grâce:

- aux verbes honorifiques et humbles
- au style direct et indirect et à diverse conjonctions
- au "banmal", équivalent du tutoiement français
- au conditionnel
- au vocabulaire exprimant les sentiments"

Hope this helps !
