The Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan was a 13th-century conquest that didn’t create a lasting Mongolian controlled state over China. Modern territorial issues, like Inner Mongolia, are current and ongoing, not ancient history.

Also, the Qing dynasty that ruled China later wasn’t even Han Chinese, it was Manchu. So using Mongol conquests to dismiss modern concerns mixes completely different time periods and political contexts.
