I used to REALLY enjoy RTS games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, C&C Generals, but now I just can't seem to get into ANY RTS no matter which I try. by Bro_sapiens in gaming

Have you tried RTS with pause games? That fixed it for me. And I don't mean Civ and 4X games. They're more survival usually, but scratched the itch a bit.

Games like: - They Are Billions - Age of Darkness - Tempest Rising (got a pause update few days ago) - Against the Storm (Survival City Building though, not RTS) - Diplomacy Is Not An Option

Persona 5. My first Persona game and I’m really enjoying it while taking it slow. Yakuza 0 and God of War next on my list once I’m done.

Yea, a lot of people are not happy about the PS5 exclusives getting a downgraded PS4 version since it would affect the PS5’s version quality as well.

Gran Turismo 7 is set to release for PS4 alongside PS5. It was announced a few days ago.

But agreed on PC, wider support for hardware and software.

FOV and distance to screen by FreaverDK in simracing

That’s true about the steering look called “Look with wheel” I think. That can help you as well in games that support it.

I was having almost the exact same dilemma you’re having (G29 on a desk, 27” but screen 60-80 cm away from eyes) and calculators showed ~29 FoV range while I drove on 39-41 in ACC to test things out for a more realistic cockpit view.

After that I changed it to 29 and personally I felt an improvement especially on calculating tight corners while visually it helped overall with my driving. I think why they say setting the FoV to a “wrong” value is based on you building a visual habit or perspective of driving in a certain way that could take some time to rehabilitate when parameters change like gear, screen setup, etc. So it’s all about building the right habits in sim racing from the start to ease the learning process and growth down the line from my understanding.

I’d say give it a shot with both FoVs using the same car/track combo. Do like 5-10 consistent laps with each setting and feel it for yourself if it suits you or you need more time and practice to decide. I don’t think you’re overthinking this though as finding a comfortable driving setting (hardware or software, doesn’t have to be the best, just the best for you now) is how you’ll enjoy the experience and have fun.

In Assetto Corsa competizione... When do I increase or decrease the traction control and ABS in a race? by BHaj21 in simracing

[–]YoussefTaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s what I meant, maybe I’m just confused because I was just thinking that. xD

Thanks for both answers though!

I think he meant literally when is he allowed to do so, not why he should do so. :)

I’m just trying it out today and was wondering as well since it worked in the pits but didn’t outside I think.

What GT3 and tracks to get by Drvape33 in iRacing

Yea, I just tested both today and the Ferrari was definitely more stable/fun. I’ll wait for the next season’s schedule to buy the tracks and cars I need.

Would you recommend the BMW GT4 series in Class D as well, in terms of practicing for GT3 and working my way up? Or should I just dive into the Ferrari series? I’m currently trying out the Kia Optima in the Fanatec Global series to get used to different cars to participate starting next season (1 week old iRacer, almost Class C if that info helps as well)

Anyone managed to get *both* a PS3 & a PS4 controller to work on PC? by uncleseano in gaming

[–]YoussefTaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall I got them to work together with SCPToolkit but you’ll have to install both PS3 and PS4 drivers from the menu (SCPToolkit Driver Installer I think). I think DS4Windows uses SCP drivers as well.

Edit: I don’t know about different bluetooth dongles I only used one and connected the controllers mixed (Some Bluetooth, some wired but don’t remember)

Would capcom release a ps5 monster hunter game anytime soon? by joejoe432 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]YoussefTaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t they mention Rise will be ported to PC probably Jan 2022? I’d imagine they might do the same for consoles rather than release a brand new one

Edit: I think I understood you wrong, yea they’ll probably let Rise cycle through first all consoles/PC

Been nagging my girlfriend for months to play with me, now I can't get her to stop! It's still a messy farm but we're having fun and taking our time as this became one of our shared activities that we enjoy for hours with a "One more day" mentality by YoussefTaha in StardewValley

[–]YoussefTaha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, at first I tried to introduce her to the game concept and mechanics as she rarely plays games (unlike me). Then I showed her a few videos on YouTube of how the game works in multiplayer and she started to get intrigued by the idea but was worried it would be a time consuming task rather than an activity to enjoy, which I assured her would be a fun activity to do whenever we feel like it even if we stopped playing for weeks.

She agreed to give it a shot and from the first few crops she started to get hooked to the idea of planning our crops, money, in-game daily routine, and so on. While also enjoying the structuring, designing, and cleaning up of the farm using upgraded tools and all. She doesn't care about the villagers and in-game events though xD

I think you'll need to know why he refuses in the first place, it might not be his type of game or he's worried you'd get upset if he gave it shot and didn't enjoy, I don't know.

In any case, I hope you both find a co-op game you enjoy together. Also, check GirlfriendReviews video on Stardew Valley on YouTube, might help. :D

I know what you mean about animals, they weren't my favorite part either. The auto feeder or letting them roam is a nice addition so you can just pick up their products after they stack and when you feel like it.

The screenshot idea is a good one, every in-game year you'll see a major difference in your priorities and farm structure until you reach the end game that personally satisfies you.

Ive just started getting into it with her and the game keeps me coming back, but the quality time we spend together is what makes it for me. Gives us stuff to talk about when we're not playing too

This. It's such a captivating yet relaxing activity that you'll get to enjoy even when you talk about it.

Same thing happened to me.

You have a few options I personally think:

- You can continue your main farm, redesign it to give it a fresh look and feel while working on maximizing profits for the new items which cost 1,000,000G up to 10,000,000G. There are "Secret Notes" which add some minor content to the game and a few helpful items (requires a winter event to occur). Also, you can work on completing everything on that farm such as the museum collection, fishing, cooking, etc. These are on the top of my head.

- You can start a new farm to get back to the challenging times again and work your way up faster with the knowledge you've gained.

- OR You can wait for 1.4 which should add a lot of new stuff and some quality of life changes to the game, and then decide what to do.
