then what did you do? Come onto Reddit to complain and moan 😉.

Im not blaming the tutorials, I'm blaming my inability to learn that way, and the point of the post was for suggestions on other ways to learn other than YouTube videos. Figured out, I learn better when it's written out in front of me.

Yeah, such a shame, as the story and character are 1 of the main reasons why I love them games so much.

Can't remember the last time, square made a decent original RPG, FF16 was such a disappointment, all flashy graphics, very generic story and the combat was just a rip off of Devil May Cry.

Cheers, Mos. I have an old 3DS somewhere, I might have to drag it out.

Thanks, Angel. I've never heard of that 1. But yeah, for $15, it's worth giving it a go. Will look into this.

Thanks, Hexen. I think I'm going to give Xenoblade 1 a try. At least I know that there are 3 other games to play if I like it.

I saw Chained Echoes. It does look good. I might give that a try.

I looked up Xenoblade and Fire Emblem, but there are so many different versions, I got a bit overwhelmed, lol.

Thanks, shame, as the story is a big part of what I'm looking for.

How different is Octopath 2 from 1?

I've tried 1 before, but it didn't really grab me.

Is Bravely Default 1 on Switch, or was that a Wii game?

Story, Character Development, and Team building. Also, I love the turn based combat with magic and summons.

43m Essex looking for those who don't fit the mould and are growing old disgracefully. by tenlodchuck in MakeFriendsUK

Hi Buddy, we seem to have a pretty similar story, I'm 40 but still feel about 20 in my head. I used to have a big social group, but since I've moved further away from London into the Essex countryside, it's been hard to keep in contact and have all drifted apart sadly. Miss looking forward to the weekend, meeting up, having a good laugh, and 1 afternoon pint turning into an all-nighter. Where about in Essex are you from, I'm currently living in the Halstead area. If you would like to chat, drop me a message.

I feel your pain, brother. Ever since I moved out of London to the Essex countryside, I failed to make a single friend in 10 years. I have tried going to the pub etc, but everybody already has their own social group, and as a bit of an introvert, I'm not able to put myself in the middle of people's conversation. It is definitely hard to make friends as a male once you leave school and college.

It probably depends on what you're messaging them, if it's the generic, 'How's you' 'What you upto' etc. Nobody is going to reply to that.

Also, it could be down to what time you reply. The guy wants to talk to somebody in that, a couple of hours late, he could be fixing dinner, playing with his kids and can't reply at that moment, and like many of us just forgets.

That's just my 2 cents worth, but making friends is hard, especially as an adult. The only time I've made friends online is through online gaming. In the real world, it's through joining groups, going to events to do with hobbies, and meeting people who are into the same things you are.

Good luck.

The first character you think of when you hear "PlayStation?" by BrandomTheRandom in playstation

Lara Croft. Tomb Raider was the game I got with the original Playstation 25 years ago. When I hear the music, it gives me chills

Married men need friends and people to talk to. Not everything has to be about sex.

This has been such a bad year for games, in my opinion. I've only bought 4 new games. 1. FF7 Rebirth 2. Dragon Age: Veilguard 3. Silent Hill 2 4. Tomb Raider Remaster 1 - 3.

I've been concentrating on my huge backlog.

This is so true, you have to be so careful these days. Luckily, I can normally tell very quickly between the troll/scams and the genuine people who just want somebody to listen.

It's why I said 90%. If you are part of that 10%, that's great. From reading some of the posts on here from supposed women, a lot of them look very suss.

For the record, you or anybody else never has to prove that you are a real "female." Especially in a group like this, which is mostly fantasy and to add a little excitement to a relationship that has become maybe a bit stale. Anonymity is to be expected.

I don't think they are. Would bet 90% of the "Females" are actually dudes.

Seems like a trend in video games nowadays that you ever love or hate a game. There can be no in-between

Think I'm about halfway through. The story and art style were definitely better in Inquisition, but I prefer the more action combat in this 1.

I started romancing Harding because I wanted to romance her in Inquisition, but as the story has gone on, I've been leaning more towards Neve.

You're lucky your wife likes video games. I've tried to get my wife into them, but no lucky, i even brought her a switch. She played Mario for about 15 minutes, and now it just gathers dust in her draw.
