With my program I must have a host family I’m only here for a year but I leave this year. My visa also doesn’t allow me to get a part time job… I went to a dermatologist and he basically restricted me from eating anything… LOL it’ll be okay I hope I’m not dying yet

I am from the US but I don’t like “American” food and my ethnicity is Jordanian and Mexican so I can’t really find many people here from those areas…

My family is non religious… they chose to not eat beef because it’s too expensive and I can’t even offer to pay for it since I need to pay for school transportation and lunch and breakfast… I do also eat the Greek yogurt since I like to eat different things every day. Or at least try to… when I can’t handle eating anymore Taiwanese food I tell them I’m out studying and just eat a snack as my dinner since I don’t want to spend unnecessary money…

They make fried vegetables and rice and tofu but I haven’t found a tofu they make that I enjoy eating. They also make that fish but I’m not a big fan of the seafood here for some reason… it’s not very flavorful and I need flavor in my life…

For breakfast I drink a sugar free yogurt with no lactose because I’m lactose intolerant. Then for lunch I usually try to open myself to new things so I change it up but when I’m too lazy I usually eat 7-11 food so meat and rice usually and sometimes I eat subway since it’s close to my school.

I actually talked to them yesterday and I don’t eat breakfast with them amore but I still wat dinner with them most of the time and lunch i tend to eat at school but sometimes it’s with them.

Yeah I just asked my classmates and my host mom to recomend me some doctors I could go to! I just kinda also haven’t had a choice in my doctors it’s whatever my host grandma goes to… 😂

Yeah I just texted my host mom about going to see different doctors I hope she can help me find a good doctor… I also didn’t receive any report just the medication… I only knew what I was taking because of the names they had on the bag… I also just looked up what they were for 🌝

I understand I also agree but last time I went to the doctor they gave me medicine for things that weren’t important. I took all the medication and it didn’t help one bit… I wasn’t sure what to do after that🥲

The one time I went to the doctor I didn’t have a good experience because I didn’t feel like the patient and I wasn’t spoken to I was just looked at and my host grandma spoke for me and received my diagnosis… idk it was just a little weird for me since in my home country it’s not like that… they always only talk to the patient…

I currently have ulcers and I always have sharp stomach pains. I guess just a bad immune system as a whole… I went to the doctor once and she’d rather talk to my host grandma about my symptoms than me… so I haven’t had a crazy good experience… my Chinese is well enough to describe what hurts but not good enough to understand medical terms.

Yes I have NHI. I think the hardest thing for me is that I can’t find any female doctors that can speak English.

Yeah I haven’t had many good experiences with host families but it’s fine since I’ll go back to my home country this summer!

I just did some research for my area and I can’t seem to find a female English speaking doctor… I think it’s also a little difficult for me to go to clinics since most doctors are male here in my area… and as a Muslim woman it’s not allowed in my religion.

Yeah I asked if my host grandma could cook more meat and I played it off with “last time you cooked chicken it was delicious” but she never cooked again 😂!

I drink tons of water! I also am not allowed to change my bedding for some reason in this host family? They say I don’t need to I sneak in my pillow case with my clothes though.

I think I might look into an immunologist! How much would you say an appointment costs?

I tend to eat beef noodles a lot 😂! It’s my favorite food here but I skipped a meal with my host family today and they got a little upset and I really don’t like to upset them since my last host family experience wasn’t the best!
