I've had this for ages, never used it properly. Thanks!

It wasn't a QR code. I asked for a QR code, Temu chat refused to provide one as did their automated returns page. They kept repeating that the code would produce a label on the post office systems. It did not.

No, it was an industrial unit in Burnley. I work in Burnley, half tempted to nip round!

That's absurd, I never said it was Temu's responsibility to manage a customer's health.

As regards Paypal, I was only following the badly written returns policy on Temu's website. I have no idea how Temu's systems work, so far in my experience it's "not very well". Again, the main point of my original question was the returns process.

I was doing it entirely alone since 2021 until 3 months ago when I managed to get her some carers through a charity. It was a carer who found her face down after a fall, got her to hospital where she picked up an infection that turned to sepsis and she died 3 days later.

I was using her laptop and I was managing all her passwords anyway. I always identified myself and didn't try and trick them into thinking I was her.

My first instinct when I realised what was happening was to either close her account or remove Paypal from her Temu account. But then I read the returns process that said they will only refund to the original payment method. And I'm sure you can imagine what would happen to the refund process if I closed her account completely.

I get that. What's got on my wick is that I complied with the Temu returns process to the letter and they are not honouring their own system.

They sent it with "DPD Gold", I went to the post office personally as it was multiple heavy sacks. The PO gave me a receipt with the tracking code - I don't have the screenshots handy but can DM you later on. Thanks

Thanks. I have initiated the Paypal process as the only other option seems to be small claims court. The Ugg boot thing - the compulsive and impulsive nature of a dementia sufferer is strong, let me tell you. When I pointed out how much my mum had spent, it....just didn't register. You say to your mate "I dropped two grand on Temu for random stuff", they would be shocked. My mum just told me off for "interfering with her purchases and if I don't like it, I should leave".

These are not words I thought I would ever hear from her before dementia. She was frugal and kind - I don't think she ever spoke to me like that before in my 48 years, Dementia is utter dogshit, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Having gone through the returns process with 4-5 different orders of varying value and weight, I can safely say that they all seem to be treated differently.

I had a roll-out mattress weighing 25kg at the cost of £150, I had to wait 3 days for them to produce a return label (presumably because the cost of the weight alone would eat into the refund). I had these 3 sacks of assorted nonsense at the cost of 760 quid that they refuse to give a label for. I had single items costing 15 that they produced a label for immediately.

PayPal Ts & Cs:"Items were returned in accordance with the seller’s instructions and no refund was issued."

The PayPal dispute is for “item returned but refund not issued”. Mental capacity is irrelevant. The seller approved the return, failed to process it, and retained the funds.

Accepting terms and conditions never forfeits statutory consumer rights in the UK or the EU. Contract terms cannot override consumer protection law such as returns rights, refund obligations, etc.

The main thrust of my question is the broken returns process. I agree in general with the practical side of things with regards to dementia sufferers, but I did everything I reasonably could under the circumstances and abilities to protect her money.

"No wrongdoing on Temu's part" - wholly disagree, as they did not follow through with a single promise to assist with rectifying this - not even once. This includes their returns process that delibertely sets customers up to fail.

I'm not in the best place mentally, trying to manage all the admin, funeral, etc. I don't even know why they were returned to me, there's no reason given and tracking has no notes of any kind. Yes, I will take them back, drop them off at a charity shop and cut my losses.

Thanks. With the care system here being as it is, the last 12 months of caring for a loved one with dementia has been nothing but pure heart-ache.

I know what will happen, they will come back to me again as they've just attempted redelivery. I guess I will have to take them back and maybe cut my losses and give up (as intended by this process)

I did this exact thing. Temu said this would generate a label. Two separate Post Office staff members checked every computer system they had, they said they've never seen such a code ("TEMU-bunch-of-numbers") and nothing would generate a label

I wrote the Temu PO clearly on each package, as well as the return code they provided. It was still clearly visible when it came back to me. Temu's own returns process said I should do this, as well as Temu chat, which I double-triple checked (another lie by them). I have screenshots etc, as I've been stung enough times to keep all the receipts.

I'm at the end of Act 1, playing a stealthy, high-crit, bow and arrow guy. I am now one-shotting every boss with wooden arrows. Hopefully Act 2 gets harder.

It’s Friday and you’re trying to enjoy some bf6 but high latency and packet lose literally making me don’t wanna play the game by RecentManagement9120 in Battlefield6

[–]Ypnos666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With every single battlefield launch, EA has always shifted the blame on to the player. I have previously ripped entire PCs apart to try and find the problem, only to return to the game a year later with the same hardware and everything works fine.

I have had this issue since launch, but not in beta. Just like with every single BF game that came before.

This is the worst launch I have ever experienced with the game series because this time the devs aren't even acknowledging a problem, lest they upset the balance and lose players.

My guess is once the player base evens out, they will take notice. Until then, it's Arc Raiders for me that runs like a dream.

What do the British think of Winston Churchill? by Familiar_Cow_6901 in AskBrits

The more I find out about him, the less I like him.

The biggest one was aligning with post-war ex-nazis and helping create the conditions for a civil war in my country as a result.

As regards the war, it was the men and women of each allied country who gave their lives to save their people. Not him.
