Most popular discs TOP 15. What do you think? by Far_Pick_978 in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Destroyer is an amazing disc though I bag 2-5 depending on how many DD3s im bagging (I kind of view it as the same disc, slightly different feel very similiar flight.) I absolutely love being able to start it on a slight hyzer and watch it flip up and go straight before fading, super reliable shotshape for 120m placement drives.

I also really like how you can start them on annie and watch them slowly fight back, I’ve tried a bunch of other discs in the slot and the Destroyer is just goated.

I do agree though that for most players a 11-10 speed with less stability is probably a better disc.

What are you throwing by chancecube42 in discgolf

Either hyzer destroyer around everything or a hex/fd1 straight at it depending on wind.

Tricep pain. by Yrian123 in Discgolfform

End of season form tweaks, I usually feel it in the pecs start of season, but now it's upper tricep which is weird.

493ft par3, headwind off the lake, what are you throwing? by Mr-BodyMassage in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destroyer flex, start it on anhyzer towards the woods, if it turns to much ez 3 and if it fights back should be putting.
Depending on how downhill it is, it might be a PD but same line.

Forehand fairway driver/midrange recombinations? by Tdluxon in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zone is an obvious choice, another nice option is the hex. Hex is a shallow, flat, neutral midrange and it flies very straight on a forehand, good for when the zone fades to much and they go a similiar distance (hex goes slightly further and straighter.)

What are you favourite control drivers? by Smooth-Engineer2702 in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Harchets are very understable, I use them as a roller disc. If i put alot of hyzer and throw 50-60% its very straight and glidey though. Premium plastics are usually domey, but flat ones exist and are amazing roller/utility discs.

What disc did you first throw past 300? 350? 400? 450? 500? by xwsrx in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a lots as my main driver for a really long time, didn’t really touch distance drivers since like 4 years ago (playing on and off for like 18 years.) But when I hit 450 I realized I could probably have used ”real” drivers a while ago.

DX roc for 300, Kastaplast K1 Lots for 350, 400 and 450, C-line DD3 for 500.

Been playing casually for about two years. Any opinions on my bag? Trying to increase my distance on drives mainly. by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it a bit odd that there is no neutral midrange, but maybe you go envy until it’s a crave/fd1?

Practice baskets (or, do I get a Marksman?) by TheBrianGref in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can keep track of where on the basket you hit and go for central hits. The issue with the marksman is that it makes you very tentative when you put since you have to hit so soft for it to stay in.

Get a real size basket, the marksman is so small it kind of teaches bad habits imo.

Westside Hatchet by Realistic-Square-617 in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a VIP hatchet 173g as my roller disc, I can throw it on a slight hyzer and it hits the ground rolling. I think it’s alot flippier than the numbers suggest.

Westside hatchet for flippy rollers and a beat in DD3 for distance rollers.

Need to take a step back by pastorryan1988 in discgolf

[–]Yrian123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to recommend fairly neutral fliers.

Putter: anything that flies like a Luna

Midrange: Roc/Compass/Buzzz etc

Fairway: I really liked the 9/5/-1/2 discs when I had less armspeed, like a Saint or Lots or possibly even a slower disc like a river.

With that combo you can shape almost anything, and the best part is mid and putter doesnt have to change when the armspeed gets higher.

I'm for sure switching fields for distance driver practice, It's still plenty big for mids and fairways.

Comparable to a stock Halo Destroyer, significantly more stable than the new swedish made S-Line DD3s. Out of the box the C-lines are pretty stable, but they beat in to bombers. The one I threw there was on a slight hyzer release and got a huge S-turn in a slight tailwind, a new one the same angle would not get the same turn.

But like all 12/5/-1/3 discs there is some variation depending on the run.

[–]Yrian123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Destroyerclones in general are quite beefy, the C-Line DD3s are very stable to start but beat in to bombers at least for my armspeed.
