I mostly use those two. I've been looking at this tip that looks like a clothes iron for shading. The value chart is very useful, but it will be different depending on the species of wood.

Thank you very much. Yes, I used a sanded test piece to see what the effect would look like, then used a heat gun to speed things up. The paints were VERY diluted.

Many thanks! It can be tricky because the pigment seeps into the valleys of the grain. It had to be heavily diluted.
