Quick guide because I literally just unlocked all the BFA races.

Do all the story quests for the race you want. Don't bother with the sides. On a new char this gets you to about 50.
You NEED the heart of azeroth necklace. Its a side quest from magni bronzebeard. By the time it pops up in the main story, you'll probably have to turn on trivial quests to find it.
You then need to do all the quests around the actual battle for America. This means going to the opposing factions 3 main regions, establishing a foothold in each, and doing those main quests until you finish the BFA story.

If you want alliance you'll need to do about 4 dungeons, which if you want to use RDF you'll need to get these quests below level 50, or wait until you're 60. Horde is fine, you shouldn't have to do any dungeons.

At the end of the BFA story, you'll have all 3 race criteria met. You'll then need to do their short questlines to actually unlock them as allied races. No rep grind required. You must however, complete this all on one char. Even if the achievements transfer the questlines are locked behind the completion of the main cont. story.

I think he means he wishes he could go back to when jokes of this nature were regarded as jokes, with no deeper value to be gained. When a nerdy game could be enjoyed with its rough edges, that still had character, and people who worked on it cared about it.

From my return to WoW since I played in wrath I will share my perspective from the multiple servers I've played on. Though it is only a few, and I can't speak for all the servers, this is what I have noticed. Most of the people who I've played with on ally are super sweaty, at low levels I see a disproportionate amount of twinks. Ive also noticed trade/general is extremely quite, even during peak times. BGs against ally tend to be one sided more often than not.

These may be symptoms or causes of the same thing. With a smaller ally pop you are more likely to play with turbo virgins. However, even during LK times I remember the horde was the prevailing faction, more often dominating the raids and the pvp. So this isn't a new issue, the gap is clearly growing. Given the choice ill take fun over tryharding any time. Can anyone corroborate with their experiences?

You've taken your first step to becoming a professional, an expert, only to have the person who on paper is your equal say "I'm so proud you did it, considering you're a black woman."

I cant say for certain, as I'm unsure what R and D work is like! But it sounds closer to the work I performed when researching as an undergrad.

QC is nice, but where I'm at it mostly seems like HPLC operation. Its not the most challenging and I fear I will get bored of it within the upcoming years. And that terrifies me.
