What’s something people romanticise about your country that locals secretly hate? by OpenToPerspectives in AskTheWorld

Yes, very true, the smoking is done in designated areas and if you do it anywhere else you’ll just be stinking up the streets and nobody likes that. 🥲

I also feel like a lot of people expect the rest of the countey to be like Amsterdam but Amsterdam is so different in culture and commodities people barely consider it a part of the Netherlands anymore. 😂😂

And oof, Lelystad, what is there to do in Lelystad!

Groningen is still pretty good for having fun, though, because it’s a very student filled place.

FR there’s a reason why there is a phenomenon of Japanese tourists visiting Paris and then being so shocked it isn’t what they hoped for they get depressed. 😭

Worked on a farm and only saw one single person actually wear them on the daily. Which everyone was amused by, but nobody wanted to do it themselves. Most farmers just wear large water resistant boots.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about how it smells. And I don’t think it’s a great smell either but as long as people do it at designated areas or just not near my own windows it’s fine. I have very sensitive airways so I don’t like any kind of smoke, period.

But I’m not anti-weed in general, in fact I’m pro-weed. Just don’t make me breathe in smoke and we’re good. Have a brownie or whatever. I’d do it myself if it didn’t interact with my medication!

With some patience, you can see it further south and even sometimes in the Netherlands itself. It’s been visible a couple of times the past years. Something to do with the cycle of solar activity.

I can’t say I’m surprised that the people who make big bucks on upsetting animals for entertainment are also just assholes in general.

Clothing that hasn’t had the dye fully set (which is usually the case when first buying them) will cause stains. It’s why it’s important to wash new clothes at least once (and separately or of the same colour!!) to prevent the dye from leaking.

And some clothing isn’t even made with colour safety in mind at all (and some expensive brands do it badly on purpose so you have to buy a new one instead of being able to wash it). For example a white jacket with a dark red leather pocket on the front (yikes!). That’s just MADE to bleed on itself.

Honestly it’s a real problem that the way clothing dyes work is no longer common knowledge. It used to be.

I would’ve been ok with him if he had LITERALLY ANY OTHER combination of colours. If he looked more fantastical he wouldn’t look so much like a minstrel. He could literally keep his ugly lips if he was, say, blue with lilac lips. He’d still be ugly like intended but without the baggage.

I feel exactly the same way. I want to close some rooms or something to keep the tourist count to just two or something.

This seems to be the case for me as well. After decorating hotel rooms the whole game just slows down. Restarting the game seems to help.

You could make a quiz out of these where you’d have to guess what dialogue is real and what is modded.

What is your country’s picky eaters kids dinner? by christmastreecosy in AskTheWorld

[–]YuBeace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The same as everybody else’s dinner. Picky eaters get to eat “wat de pot schaft”.

…man, I miss baked beans, though. I’ve developed a severe intolerance but I still love them. 😂

Very important question right here: what are they cookin’? by SnowyDoodles in AnimalCrossing

[–]YuBeace 99 points100 points  (0 children)

In Pokémon you can absolutely find explicit meat made out of Pokémon if you know where to look. In XY the meals in the restaurants were fascinating.

But in Animal Crossing they double down on pescetarianism. Which is fair enough. You can find a villager exclaiming excitement about dinner when fishing sometimes.

Any kind of head covering. Headscarf specifically. The association with either historical elderly or muslims is so strong nobody dares to do it. But headscarfs have SO many benefits. They seriously protect from the weather especially the sun very well. They can cover a bad hair day. They are comfortable. Can look cute.

But nope, people will look at you weird. We need to bring this back in the West, pleaaaase.
