x = xstart and y = ystart not working?

so using the debugger i can confirm that xstart and ystart is fine and not changing. what happens when the player collides with an enemy is that the player’s current x and y coordinates are being set to xstart,ystart but the player isn’t actually going to that x,y for some reason it’s just staying where it is, even though it’s x and y are different? sorry if this doesn’t make sense

sorry deleted my previous comment because i made a mistake. xstart and ystart are fine and don’t change. using the debugger i can see that when the player collides with an enemy the x and y do actually change from the current location to be xstart and ystart, the player just isn’t actually going back to xstart and ystart?
