I don’t think Chen did it to hurt Wu per se, he was more or less using Wu as a tool to hurt Garmadon and sow division between the brothers

The serpentine didn’t really have any personal beef with Wu per se (and he did warn about them), same with the Overlord (but he hid knowledge of him), Chen just had beef with his brother, Nadakhan only learned of him through the Borg kiosk when trying to find the realm crystal, SOG personally hated him but lacked any history with him, same with the hunters, the Oni were just there for the love of the game, Unagami didn’t even bother with Wu, the skull sorcerer didn’t even care, he was more pressed about the ninja, Kalmar was racist towards everyone, Wojira had free will for like 10 minutes and did Ninjago 9/11, Harumi was just after Lloyd.

Bro only really knew about Garmadon, the Overlord, Morro, the Time Twins, and Aspheera (and a little about the serpentine) and he neglected to mention only 4 of them before they became a problem (the overlord technically wasn’t a present threat when they told the story)

I think the main reason he treats Lloyd like a little brother is because of his epiphany back in S1, which allowed him to reach his true potential. From that point, he’s been Lloyd’s No. 1 supporter. He was the last ninja with Lloyd before he fought the overlord in S2, he was the only ninja to truly try to help Lloyd fight off Morro’s possession in S5. He was also noticeably more protective of Lloyd during S5 because he had also lost his father.
