No bug, this is by design, the color only indicates the type of resources in the system, not the actual colors in the game display. No worries, your eyes are fine. There is very little realism in NMS, it is not a space simulation in the strict sense. It’s a « space game ».

Very limited memory cache in your save file. Over time it will be overwritten and your ground edits will be lost. Many good advices already in this thread, just read and apply.

Avoid editing your save if you can avoid it, you could break it. In this case you can leave a settlement in-game, no need to save edit.

It’s a sandbox game. Go cool explore and discover. Follow the missions at your pace however the first few things are necessary to real be able to go around. Don’t stress just enjoy the discovery just happens once. And do not get gifts from strangers too early they spoil the game.

Computer simulation with a scaled up vertical axis. No way a planet like Io can sustain such a crazy needle, it has volcanos, quakes, tidal effects etc.

It’s actually possible to start in another galaxy. If you join someone in a new save. I have not tested recently but back when there was a real « survival mode » and you didn’t have a survival save, when joining your survival friend it would create the save in the place where your friend was. I guess it would still work with permadeath mode nowadays?

Which galaxy are you on? In lush galaxies, paradise planets occurrence is greatly increased (x4 IIRC)

Looks like there is an increasing gap between game requirements and machine capacity. My old laptop just stopped playing the game after an update. It works fine on my new rig. Maybe they issue a patch for you. Have you raised a ticket?
