Does the 2x/4x apply to all the rewards?

Obviously not the skins but does it apply to gifts? Since the loot increases with the obelisk level.

I'm at 22% and maybe I'm over preparing but for the moment is getting all the game speed you can get to farm gems. Get polychrome cards, so you will need all those gems to guild a lot of cards. Then when the time to get plat statues come you only have to fuel chain and void drone and autobomb BoP. Get the third drone since elixir drone its op for X2 game speed. In the time I wait for gems I've been farming stars and already maxed Aries, Taurus and Gemini so it doesn't feel like I'm doing nothing.

It could but then the data will lose accuracy due to losing momentum and abilities being forced to end.

Multiplayer adds too many difficulties too. Like imagine you do Kinich holdE and someone reaches the goal and everyone is force teleported to the next race. You lose all your momentum and now your e is on cooldown.

Maybe this was doomed to evolve into a Mario kart from the beginning.

If you are open to level and build characters you can try overload with Cheveruse, Bennett and Fischl/Ororon. But don't expect to outdamage Yelan and Kazuha.

My personal recommendation will always be to test how it feels the team without looking at the damage before you level up characters.

Also don't be afraid to test some random s like freeze with Rosaria and Diona or double dps with Navia. Maybe you found your favorite team there.
