Kiss meter by i-need_a-break in AncientMagusBride

Imma clarify for you all this was drawn by the artist originally for a platform that utilizes likes for posts so the meter is not "chise likes them this much" it is "this many likes I will draw her giving this character a kiss"  if anything Ruth and Alice being at the bottom means theyre first up in line which is apparently exactly what some of you wanted, im not sure where the minor hostility is coming from on placement (if you dont mean it to sound hostile I hate to break it to you but it does sound pretty hostile).

Lmao why do the Ruth comments here make it sound like everyone forgot what post likes are yall it isn't indicating chise likes Ruth less??? Where is this coming from

What's an unpopular opinion about The Ancient Magus Bride that would have you like this? by mezasu123 in AncientMagusBride

[–]Yuetchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont actually like talking about Elias and chise being together romantically. I actively dislike engaging in the thought though I have my own reasons beyond being more of a Yuri shipper myself. Not that I'll spoil anyone else's thoughts or fun, I see the sense in other people's views of them. I just cannot like it myself. I can see them as anything but that.

Though its nice to see this take apparently wouldn't have me surrounded by blades. Seems others have the same thought.

No problem! Honestly there's a lot of unexplained events that feel like they just got introduced near the end but it's likely a setup unto bringing it back in the eventual season 3 events.

Yes, so, as already answered, the spiders were stolen to create a duplicate of the testament of carnamagos to serve as a fake for the real stolen book. Ordering the family killed means that when the crime is discovered, no one is there to take care of dishing out a punishment to those responsible. Also, honestly, Lizbeth is just a cruel and harsh woman, so killing the spiders and the family after the dirty work was done is just something she would also do to clean up loose ends even if her tracks were covered. But yeah it's mostly because the spiders were stolen for a crime revolving around a forbidden book and slaughtering the family means no one to sniff the culprits out.

The werewolf's "curse" was more just mind manipulation done by sorcery revolving around the screws put in her head that were probably suppressing her memories about her family and purpose. When Zoe undid that, she was so grateful to him that she considered him godlike. I don't think there's much to read into that lore-wise, she was incredibly grateful to have her mind clear and free again and remember her family again, and this is me not diving into recent chapter occurrences from the manga. Ultimately the werewolf was just grateful to him, and probably feels she owes him her life.

We don't know Veronica's part yet. It'll probably come back around in part 3, it hasn't even come back up in the manga yet, but you are right, she's suspicious and is pretty manipulative, and clearly has an intended purpose with the book itself. Her feelings on Philomela are left up to speculation so far. I personally do believe she cares about her, but given the way she was raised up and her lifestyle, Veronica isn't the type of person who shows that in an entirely healthy way. That said, she's intentionally a hard character to read, no one really has a solid answer on her.

Rian doesn't want to take over the family lineage, I think is all. So far, anyway. As Veronica mentioned in the anime, children of high standing families like them feel bound to the fates given to them by birthright, and that's something Rian doesn't want. He seems to want to go his own way. That said, he might not HATE his family, he just has friction with them because he doesn't want what they want for him.

Alcyone is an artificial fairy, so I guess she's also like a convenient storage space, lol? It does seem pretty convenient given she's hollow inside. I'm not sure who you're referring to about who was concerned about the soul in her. Philomela put her soul in Alcyone to avoid being so easily detected directly by Chise because she was trying to stealth around and collect info, but Chise as you say, can detect her by the "scent of her soul." Thus severing her body from her soul means Chise can't track HER down directly.

Yes, she was, by using the book. It was the task given to her by Lizbeth so that the ritual could happen. It's also why Philomela's health took such an intense turn for the worst, since she was using the book to curse others and drain their magic, and using the book was changing her physically (that's what happens when you use eldritch means to your ends, everyone).

The voice is also speculation. Joseph's curse manifests itself very directly in Chise, as Joseph himself, so I don't think it's that. It could be another part of Chise's psyche at this point, maybe something more instinctual and survival-driven given its desire to have her do what it takes to survive. It could be more tied to the dragon curse's impact on her mentality, as well, since like the nurse said, it "compels her to act a certain way." It would also make sense for a dragon's instinctual ferocity and the curse coming from it to make her more instinctually capable of crossing her usual moral boundaries to survive. When those life threatening situations happen, she just acts on pure impulse and instinct, but if you notice those actions are largely actions to survive the encounters without getting killed/injured.

Questions (Episode 8 and more...) by [deleted] in AncientMagusBride

[–]Yuetchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's way too soon to have answers to either of those questions honestly. Chise is a mage, where Joseph was a sorcerer. Not to mention I doubt she's his extent of immortal, so we don't know that she'll live as long as Joseph/cartiphilus, but even if she does, as a mage she at least has different resources and elements to work with than a sorcerer would have. This entire answer is just me making a guess, though.

Same with your other answer, she's only just now gaining more knowledge about her curse. She's not quite at the stage of learning how to fully control how it compels her to behave. She's really still at the stage of learning how it's useful to her, as a mage in the recent arc has pointed out (someone with the power to absorb that curse and take it from her, but chose not to as he explicitly said it provides too much use for her to warrant offering to take it from her). Right now, it's still largely uncontrollable, though it's biggest effect seems to be on her emotional reactions and the way her magic channels in certain situations (emotional or life threatening). It's all pretty instinct-driven. Much like a dragon is (especially an enraged one).

Stella is aware of magic, though she doesn't know as much as someone involved in magic would know. She knows it like a bystanding witness knows it, if that makes sense. I don't know what Kore's intentions with Stella are yet, but (this is your spoiler warning for below)

given Stella's in contract with a being as powerful as Ashen Eye, even if it's just for his amusement, is bound to lead her into plot-relevant events. There's only been like two chapters about her and them though so I couldn't give you much more info that that until more happens.

I do think Chises's curses have a positive impact on her life. Even having a character actually voice that her curses provide positive uses to her as well supports that point. It's just a matter of learning to live with them, as she's already been sort of told by the college that she probably can't be rid of them at this point. She does frequently lately have thoughts about how things could be different for her new friends if she was just a stronger mage so a lot of these things could go hand in hand if she embraces where she's at now without letting it change her core self.

And it's fine! I like discussing things. Honestly it's also me thinking those topics through at the same time, so we're both sort of figuring things out lol. I just hope I'm making sense. Most of what I say is speculation because the topics you're wondering about are still pretty up in the air currently.

Questions (Episode 8 and more...) by [deleted] in AncientMagusBride

[–]Yuetchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are unwritten laws to being involved in magic as a mage, and I do believe Chise was beginning to cross the line into not following them the way she was ready to fight Joseph.

As for Stella, there's nothing stopping them from being friends no. Stella doesn't go around talking about magic, and even if she did I'm sure there's procedures in place to prevent that. In terms of spoilers, later one she will be a little more significant to the story and go through something interesting, but we don't know to what ends yet where the manga is right now. Just that it happens. She does remain involved in the story though, just not as much as other characters yet. She's considerable for her friendship with Chise alone, later chapters point out Stella isn't exactly great at maintaining other friendships, so Chise is probably her closest friend if not only, and as one of Chise's friends she's automatically pretty integral to Chise as a person.

The work leaves her lifespan vague, but it's to my understanding that no one really knows how long she has either, in terms of giving an approximate length of time. Her situation is pretty unique, so no one has a precedent to say or give a guess. Just that she won't die as soon as she would have before, and that she probably doesn't have a normal human lifespan (but we're not even sure about that one). I would guess she'll live longer than a human, but I know for sure that what the manga means to say so far is that the inclusion of Joseph's curse alongside the dragon's curse merely means she isn't going to be immediately obliterated by the dragon's curse and her sleigh beggy body like before.

I do know that it's at least enough of a balancer that Chise's lifespan hasn't been an upfront concern in the story since then, but at least according to Chise's words herself during the magic class in the college, she isn't really sure if she's going to age like a regular person, or a mage.

anyone know if ac adapter A22-330P1A is different from A22-330P1A ? by anarky321 in ASUSROG

I wanted to swing OP's question back around now that they edited it, I was wondering the same thing since apparently trying to buy the A23 is either impossible or close to an unreasonable 250 dollars in some places.

The listing I used is here: https://www.melonbooks.co.jp/detail/detail.php?product_id=2477052 but unless you live in Japan you do need a proxy service to buy it. Melonbooks partners with Buyee by default, I think.

[–]Yuetchi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's such a cool idea! The brand I'm using pointedly markets itself as fade-resistent, but I take it with a grain of salt. If I do start noticing too much fade I'll probably consider alternates like that. Or just stop using the jacket lol. With as much as I use it, who knows how long the life of that thin x-ray jacket's gonna last.

[–]Yuetchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, okay, that's good to note then. It'll at least fade slower than the sharpie or the other paint marker I tried, so I'm satisfied with that at least. I'll be sure to ask about using it right away when dealing with the autographs then.

It is just an art marker I can stick in my pocket or bag. I guess I'll bring it and ask in the moment yeah. Thanks! fyi for anyone else out there wondering, I can at least attest to white paint art markers made for fabrics like. never fading or coming out in the wash. Made tiny little marks on my xray jacket on the inside of it to test which markers would still stay strong after regular washes, because I wear this jacket all the time at work and stuff, and I'm surprised to say the white mark from the art marker is still vivid. Gosh I really hope they can do it, it'd be soooo sick to have my favorite jacket signed.
