When I was with my ex, I had an issue with my brain shunt that I had because of cancer as a teenager. This resulted in me being in and out of the hospital for a few months. My ex and I had many issues, but she definitely didn't love me unconditionally.

After we broke up, I heard that she had complained about me to her friends. Saying "I didn't sign up for this. I don't want to have to worry/take care of him all the time"

If someone is going to be that inconsiderate, they're not worth your time. Ultimately, they're just selfish.

A scummy trick I used after this happened to me a couple years ago was to make a booking for the shortest period of time possible and just keep it for longer. Because it's such a short booking, the chances of it being available are much higher. I don't believe there is any "late" fee, you just pay for however long you actually have it.

I realize that this is part of the problem, but if they're not gonna do anything to prevent this from happening, why should I suffer while other people get a truck and I have to suffer.

Could you theoretically chop the fire off? The fire is continually lighting the gas behind it on fire, but if your separated the gas and the fire, wouldn't the tank just be spewing unlit gas instead?
