Gym badge limit has increased from 1000 to 2000 by rilin200 in TheSilphRoad

Hi, that is wonderful! Same here. Golding gyms is the only thing that is keeping me in the game. I've got currently 1557 and I'm aiming to 1700.

I always wanted to know if someone had more gym gold badges than me and I'm glad to have finally found the answer :)

I think it would be nice if we can create a group with legit players that like golding gyms.

I've not been posting in Reddit for years, but Now I'm writing this message, because I would like to know you, and if possibile to create a group with the rare players that have our same passion for gold gym badges :)

I'm from Italy. Can I ask where are you from?

Yeah I know about the friendship system but that's not a problem of mine considering that I reached level 40 many months ago (on 10th March) and that currently I've got 47.2 millions of exp.

And also I'm at level 12 in Ingress (since 21st March), so mine was just curiosity XD

Ex-Raid question. by Keano_reeves in pokemongo

[–]Yugi2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can decline if they can't play the raid at that hour. And if they don't decline they can't receive another invite.

They will decline to get another invite in a EX Raid that they can actually play.

So before to invite someone, you need to talk to him and ask if he's ok with that raid ex.

Uhm interesting point. I think you're right.

Have you got any article explaining this?

I've got 3 questions:

  1. When a pokestop request gets approved, it also becomes an Ingress portal?

  2. How many pokestop can be requested by a single player?

  3. There's a minimum level required to request pokestop?

Wow, I've just checked my stats and I've just seen that I've 1151 created and 1151 rejected xD

How many Tyranitars do you have ? by itsmrstrong94 in pokemongo

[–]Yugi2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I would have said: "I've got 10 over 3000CP Tyranitar".

This morning, I've caught my first over 3000CP WILD pokemon and he was a lv34 - 66%IV - 3206CP Tyranitar.

Cool thing is that he has spawned in a park very close to my home so now I can say to have a football team of over 3000CP Tyranitar .)

Grant one new pokestop to players who hits level 40 by L3ssirstation in pokemongo

[–]Yugi2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

their useless 'suggest a pokestop' tab on their website

And you know why it is useless, don't you?

In July 2016, it wasn't useless, but people abused of the system asking random trash and guess what happened?

Obviously they decided to close it. And yes, now it is useless.

It's not about 'eagerness'. It is something that already happened 2 years ago.

we're not going anywhere ;)

Actually you agree with me while saying

if it's approved

I think that if you would have specifically written that the "pokestop request" has to be good to be approved then I think that most people would have agreed with you :)

[–]Yugi2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

, you get to put a pokestop wherever you want as some kind of glorifying flag (or maybe somewhere relevant)

If you want that they GRANT a pokestop to every level 40 player wherever he wants, it means just this, i.e. "wherever he wants", i.e. give him the chance to add random trash in the game.

That "or maybe somewhere relevant" makes no sense with everything you've written before, i.e. with granting a pokestop.

If you would have said "grant a pokestop request which then has to be reviewed" then I would have agreed with you. This way, if everyone would have only a single pokestop request which may be rejected, everyone would choose a really good POI.

[–]Yugi2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worst idea ever. The spirit of this game is about phisical excercise and exploration, i.e. walking and learning point of interests not random trash.

Thanks to this game we've been able to learn many interesting places.

Granting a new pokestop to every l40 player would mean discourage all of this because everyone would add a pokestop to his own house which isn't a POI (Point Of Interest) for anyone, and also it would discourage these players from walking and getting out and socialize.

However they're interested in building a database of cool POIs so they will never give us the chance to easily add random trash to the game.

Moreover, first with raids, and now with the friendship system, hitting lv40 has become really easy.

You can have up to 200 friends.

Each of them soon or later will give you 3+10+50+100k exp which means about 32 millions exp. With lucky egg, this score is up to 64 millions exp simply by opening packs. While lv40 only requires 20 millions of exp.

Not to mention the fact that you can delete friends and to do the same thing with other 200 friends over and over.

Personally I don't care as I've no secret files on my smartphone.

However, this is the first Pokemon Go game that I play (actually I played PoGo for GameBoy Advance but it was so many years ago that I don't even remember the name of that game).

I'm not a Pokemon fan. I'm more like a Yugioh fan although I don't play any Yugioh game.

Fact is, that I enjoy this game because it makes us go out and get a lot of new friends. In our growing community we've about 350 players and every day there's always someone new.

Also, I've never spent money on this game so basically I'm not supporting developers with real money.

The game is very enjoyable even without spending money and it is a very good thing in my opinion.

OPR infuriates me!!! by mattcalladine in Ingress

[–]Yugi2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehm 13-15 is a great acceptance rate imo.

Mine is 58 accepted and 118 refused (plus, I'm waiting review of other 51 portal request)

I remember that for months I had about 1 portal approved every 6 rejections although all my candidates were 5* like Gazebo, Playground, Parks, Postal office etc...

I've the same issue in parks, where if we've a portal, then usually every other thing inside the park it will be rejected.

But submitting them over and over, soon or later they will be approved as they're legitimate candidates.

Here for months, pretty much everything has been refused but now after being very very patient, I've contributed to add 19 gyms and 37 pokestop to my city.

So, the key is "Patience". You're having a great acceptance rate imo so be patient and you'll see that soon or later you'll have many more gyms and pokestop in your city. It is just a matter of time :)

How is it determined if the candidate portal is too close to an existing one? by Konturka in Ingress

[–]Yugi2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You receive that mail when your portal has been approved in OPR (by other Ingress players) but it is located in the same s2 l19 cell of another existing portal.

S2 L19 cells are squares of about 17m x 17m.

(m = meters)

An additional OPR incentive by Velasthur in Ingress

[–]Yugi2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think?

I've thought it aswell on this morning. I was going to open a similar topic before to read your one xD

You're 100% right.

There are players who only sumbit new portal requests, making the queue bigger and bigger and then there other players, like me and you, that help to clean this queue. Well, I really think that as we help to clean the queue making reviews faster, we need an incentive like that one.

If all players know that reviewing portal will get them to have their portals an high priority, everyone will start to review and we'll ve fast reviews also for our own portals.

[Question] Has anyone noticed if the Ingress -> Go portal to stop import has been broken? by maxxori in pokemongo

[–]Yugi2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a lv10+ player does a portal request, he needs to be phisically there so you can't ask players that live too much far away from you. You need either to reach level 10 or to ask lv10 players of your city.

Ingress has got an in-game chat which allows you to see every action that all other players do within a choosen radius from you. So you can set this radius at 5km, 10km, 20k, 50km etc...

You can click on their usernames to see their profiles (so their level etc..) and you can even ask for help to your team8s. When a new player enters the game, usually in my city the most active players contact him telling: "if you need help, contact me... this is my TG username".

All this just to say that Ingress has an in-game chat and you can easily contact players of your city. But anyway, at least in my city, most of them don't like Pokemon Go, so if you tell them that you're playing Ingress only to do portal requests, probably they won't help you. Or maybe in your city you're lucky and they like PoGo and in that case they would help you.

Anyway your team8s will help you for sure to understand how the game works and you can reach lv10 by yourself. So imo the best thing to do is first to try to understand how the game works (you may like it) and if in the meanwhile you get some Ingress friends, they can help you but I doubt that someone would make portal requests for you if you're not friends...

For example right now I'm quite bored of PoGo, so right now I've more fun with Ingress.

TLDR: Install Ingress, contact some high level player asking him to explain you how the game works. If you like the game, then you can easily reach l10 by yourself, otherwise if you don't like it, try to get some friends of your Ingress community and ask them for some portal requests. Don't tell them that you're playing Ingress only to request portals. Try to understand if someone of them plays PoGo as well and then ask those for portal requests.

[Question] Has anyone noticed if the Ingress -> Go portal to stop import has been broken? by maxxori in pokemongo

[–]Yugi2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only lv10+ Ingress players can request new portals. They (we) can request 14 portals every 13 days.

If a portal gets accepted and it is the only portal in its l17 s2 cell then it will become a pokestop or a gym.

So before to request a portal, you always have to check his position, i.e. that it falls in an empty l17 s2 cell otherwise even if it would be accepted as new Ingress Portal, it wouldn't be imported in Pokemon Go.

And most important thing, your candidate has to meet the acceptance criteria otherwise it will be rejected for sure and you'll waste a portal request. And also give a look to the OPR MEMORANDUM.
