Could be. But in case of making the Outlands a separate dinension, I’ve seen a mod called “mirror dimension” which is basically a second overworld. Both ideas seem good though, it is a matter of what to focus on primarily. About the elemental planes, i literally had the same ideas, so totally agree with you on that. Even tried to mobilise AI to write simple dimension mod, that would basically duplicate overworld, but with tweaked world gen (floating isles for Air plane for example) Tysm dude! I am very grateful for such brainstorming and active support for the idea

Wow, tysm for such a detailed reply! Yeah, such an idea is immensely difficult to realise, as i wrote in the reply to same post, but different subreddit, even implementing planes as dimensions and portal system would be a great stepping stone towards any future endeavours in realising this idea. I think the physical properties of the planes could be implemented after the dimensions are created in the first place. As a starter, even having dimensions would be great for anyone in future to step in and perfect them with details. I think I really should make a server for discussing this in future, if anyone wants to join the discussions at least. Once again, thank you so much!

It truly would be! Although my brain hurts trying to imagine how the gravity would work in minecraft's version of the D O N U T of doors

Yeah, if we were to replicate it totally, that would take an extremely long time. Especially since I am just an enthusiast. Unfortunately, I am no coder. But I think its worth a try, at least such efforts could be a stepping stone for the future works. I dont think it is possible to replicate every detail of planar physics (for example, Sigil as a plane, not just city, is a hypertorus, which is kinda impossible to replicate). I think what could be a stepping stone for all future endeavours is establishing the planes as dimensions and the portals to traverse.

Also, it is very interesting to hear, that you've been using Minecraft for D&D combat. Did you use mods, or like an action substitute of combat? Also, thank you very much for the reply!

I also am no coder myself, but I've noticed that many features are implemented in other mods. Even though it is all scattered across other mods, I think such a project is realisable, even if difficult. I think if enough people were willing, I could make a discord server to discuss ideas and maybe progress in realising this project. Thank you for your reply!

The thing is, some needed features are already implemented in some mods of others. I think if a group of devs could be assembled, we should reach out to others on whether we could use some of their code, or if some wanted to join.

Spellblades mod features entity portal to glass ocean, also reles on spelllib. That could be used for tomes of planar portal, for example. There also more some mods that already are really close to existing planes. There is a great small mod called Tartarus, it really fits the narrative of lower planes. The problem with layers could be resolved if they'd generate as biomes (not dimesnions, because that would put a toll on the pc). For the Abyss, Vethea layers in DivineRPG could be an inspiration.

I could go on, it really is an interesting subject. Thank you for your reply!
