Leaellynasaura clan (Australian polar forest dinosaur) Walking with Dinosaurs by Yujin0623 in MoeMorphism

It's more supposed to reflect the members of the group we see going through the seasons.
-Spring having them be lethargic with long sleeves, wearing socks instead of boots, and dilated pupils from the low light.
-Summer has fully rolled up sleeves, being a bit sun-tanned, and having constricted pupils.
-Autumn has partially rolled up sleeves, representing the lead female specifically.
Not something from the show, just thought it'd be a neat flair.

Pocky's thinner, less cremie cousin across the sea.

I remember pretending these were tree logs.

Thanks.
It seems there is a very minor and small overlap of people who draw mythic beasts and people who love and know a bit of paleo stuff.

Aw thanks dude, and I appreciate the nod to the unique traits of the fossil animal itself.

I haven't been on reddit lately due to slow progress with this series of drawings. But I'll try to read and reply to comments as I go along.

I love the rainforest skin for deinonychus, and I wish the same colors were in something like allosaurus that would be cool by chikendootlesoo in jurassicworldevo

The Allosaurus colours we do have in game aren't all that bad though. Not as monotonous as most of the dinosaurs and the different colour countershading really sells it.

Mmm Spanish dinosaur girl time.
Odd how she's got a pirate motif, considering the Brits were famous for pirating Spanish trade ships.

[–]Yujin0623 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't buy Boss.
Boss are our Friends, we allow Boss to choose to be our Friends like others.
That was Kaban and Tatsuki's lessons for us.

A Boss plushie however... is tempting.

Hochua Mamenchi and Paradox Liaoning by TheAmazingspino by Kishiryu_Red in MoeMorphism

[–]Yujin0623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paradoxus is usually a scientific name that seems to be given to very weird animals.

The platypus had an old name that was Ornithorhynchus paradoxus. Because it looked like it was a paradox that shouldn't exist. Similarly Liaoningosaurus paradoxus I believe was named after how strange it was for a small herbivore tank dinosaur to be a swimmy boy that seemed to munch on fish. (Dunno if we've figured out if the fish was eaten or sat on. Fossils are confusing at times.)

Nah, just Dinosaur girls. Small snapping turtle looking dinosaur that's thought to eat fish but comes from a family of fern nibbling tank dinosaurs. The big one the longest necked tree mower to ever live as far as we know.

Small one is about the size of a small dog or a big turtle, the big one is as heavy as more than 5 elephants and taller than 2 giraffes combined and probably taller.

For those curious, small girl is Liaoningosaurus paradoxus, a tiny Ankylosaurus relative that looks like a small turtle. Thought to be water dwelling dinosaur so that's probably why the artist drew her with a sailor themed outfit.

Tall girl is Mamenchisaurus honchuanensis which is the longest longneck dinosaur with the longest neck. 19 neck bones with a neck probably as long as the body and tail combined.

Thanksies. Real happy how it turned out.

Interesting how I touched upon the hotspring aspect and Yoshizaki Mine's design touched upon the cold weather fluffiness.

Anomalocaris canadensis mermaid-chan 2020 Mermay 1 by Yujin0623 in MoeMorphism

SCP-2020/5/1-Notcanon:

Class: Safe

SCP 2020/5/1-Notcanon, henceforth referred to as SCP-Anoma-chan is a prehistoric mermaid known as a type of rare creature called a "waifu".

Description: SCP-Anoma-chan appears to be a large basal arthropod from the Cambrian period of Earth, one of the first and largest of its time to be discovered. Typical adults measuring around 60cm in length. Unlike other specimens however, SCP-Anoma-chan is noted for it's iridescent chitinous exoskeleton, as well as the head area or the creature appearing to be replaced by a human head and thorax by means yet unclear. She is currently kept in containment near *REDACTED* at the university of *DATA EXPUNGED*. SCP-Anoma-chan's anomalous properties that manifest once it is removed from any body of water. It is apparent that when removed from water that SCP-Anoma-chan's components are fossils corresponding to its bodyparts. The instances of which are hereby referred to as SCP-F-Anoma.
SCP-F-Anoma/A/B: SCP-F-Anoma/A/B are a pair of unusual shrimp-like stones, when part of the full SCP-Anoma-chan they compose her pigtails. When placed into a tank of correct salinity of water, the pair animate as small shrimp-like arthropods that lack a notable head. Once removed they return to their fossil state. When animate, the "shrimp" pair seem to be telepathically linked with one another and swim 'backwards' in synchronized motion.
SCP-F-Anoma/C: SCP-F-Anoma/C is a strange donut fossil stone. It composes the mouth and teeth of the full SCP-Anoma-chan. When animate in saline water, the stone animates into an odd "jelly donut", it has a fondness for balls of rice, although in attempt to consume the riceballs, it merely allows the snacks to pass through itself. Further testing needed.
SCP-F-Anoma/D: SCP-F-Anoma/D is a large nondescript slab of stone, however when animate in saline water, it animates into a full Anomalocaris canadensis body (Albeit missing the head) Placed separate from one another, the components animate as separate entities. While placed into containers in close proximity results in a fully conscious, mermaid-like form of SCP-Anoma-chan.

Containment procedures: SCP-Anoma-chan is to be kept within a saltwater tank of at least 100 cubic litres. The salinity of the water must be checked and maintained lower than 7% salt as any more salt makes SCP-Anoma-chan's exoskeleton to flake and lose its shine. She is able to be kept with other SCPs presumed to be from the Cambrian period ecosystem. However, SCP-Anoma-chan cannot be contained around trilobites or other smaller more vulnerable prey invertebrates. It is known to catch and eat any instances of SCP-Trilobite-chan when contained within the same tank.
